Can anyone who's beaten the game perhaps help give tips as to what area I should sextuple check?

I've beaten it before and I still got rather stuck at this point last night. :slol:

Devlin would be so ashamed if he watched me play :fp:

No shame at all. It can be easy to miss things in this, especially as not all of it is immediately obvious.

Though my next playthrough I'm aiming to cut out that whole section and avoid the grapple beam entirely. I only did it last time for the Draygon fight and I want to be able to do that without going for the easier kill. Could easily save me 10+ minutes on a playthough.

Easily the best announcement of E3 for me, so glad the Metroid Franchise is back and the pre-orders seem to be doing well.

Do you have the Speed Booster and Power Bombs yet?

Yes

Ok. This will guide you to the next item you need. I've broken it up into chunks so you can spoil as much or as little as you want.

Head towards where you found the Ice Beam. The corridor just to the left of the Norfair entrance that you have to run through will have some Power Bomb blocks in the floor before the next door.

Go through them and work your way around the rooms until you break into a room that has a door in the floor. The door at the top of this room will take you back to the entrance of Norfair, the middle door to a save room, the right door back to the eastern parts of Norfair. Go through the door in the floor.

Fight and kill Crocomire, then head left.
(Shoot her in the mouth and force her back into the lava).

Go left and work your way down to the bottom of the tall shaft. Right hand door leads to a missile expansion. Go through the door in the floor.

Use power bombs to clear space.

Speed-boost then jump off the ramp to the left.

Go through door on the left.

That item should allow you to progress some more.

Oh man, yep, I'm real dumb. I kept using the super dash thing. Didn't even think to just jump normally. I hate myself.

Aside from this one setback, I think I've managed to find everything in the game bar 1 energy tank. I've found a room with a door I haven't been through in Crateria, but it looks to be an exit only door. I've been all around Crateria using the Xray goggles and power bombs (just in case) and still not found any sort of new path to follow to this door. I'm assuming the last energy tank is in there. Pray for me if not.

The only door like that I can think of in Crateria is in a hidden passage at the top of the vertical shaft that leads down to the room where you first encounter the space pirates.

If it is that one....
There's another passage towards the bottom of the shaft.

Go through that, freeze the yellow jumping things in the floor.

Speedboost then do a vertical shine-spark up the shaft at the end.

If it's not that one then let me know where it is and I can point you in the right direction if you want.

Nah not that one. Same shaft, opposite side. The closed door is at the bottom on the left. Any help would be much appreciated, ty <3 Can't wait to beat Super Metroid with no guides, but with Cheeky Devlin tips

For later? Is it where you exit the last area during the final sequence? Nah I'm good for a progression, trying to go for 100% now. I think I'm just missing this last energy tank and possibly 1 more missile upgrade? Idk how many missiles I'm meant to have in total, for some reason 215 sticks out in my head. Though Idk where I would have heard it from. If that door is what I suspect it to be as mentioned in the spoiler then I'll keep on looking elsewhere.

Is there anything new there or is that just a summary of things we learnt at E3?

Couple of tidbits which I think may have been covered during the Treehouse, cool to recap though

Still think it's hilarious that Nintendo basically said "yeah so we couldn't really do Metroid Prime 4 so we've given to the creators of the Metroid Prime Trilogy who are starting from scratch" :fp:
