It's been a while since I played so I had to check my mission log to remember what I had done  :shifty: I didn't have much luck picking up upgrades as I explored with the Wave Beam but I've now got the Power Bomb and look to be heading to the final boss.

I'm going to try to pick up as many upgrades as I can now to try to get to 100% completion before continuing with the main story towards the fortress in the sky that Adam mentioned.

Indeed it is.

Completed! :toot:

It's a very good game and I enjoyed playing it. However, there were some frustrating bits though and glad I've finished it as it's my first Metroid 2D game! :fp:

I'm working through the world map for any items I've missed. I ended up on Dairon and have all the items there now. I had to look up how to use the Speed Boost and wall kick for some but the QOL features made it easy to track down the missing items.

I had a go at the final boss before hunting items and got the hang of dodging some attacks but was still bested.

I've now got all the items in Artaria and Burenia so it's just Cataris, Elun and Ghavoran left. After that, I'll head back to the final boss.

The Speed Boost makes for some tricky puzzles when hunting for items!

Finished :toot:

I picked up the last items to bring my total to 100% then went for the final boss. It took me a few attempts to get through but it was very rewarding to triumph in the end and it makes good use of a lot of Samus' abilities.

Overall, it's a fantastic game and Mercury Steam did a wonderful job continuing the series. Hopefully it won't be another 19 years before we get another entry!

I'm very much looking forward to Prime 4 and will aim to finish Prime 3 before it launches.

Congrats! It really is a fantastic game isn’t it. Metroid feels like it’s in a very good place for the short term future at least with this doing so well and Prime 4 out hopefully within the next couple of years.

I noticed I had 500 platinum coins on my Nintendo account earlier, so I picked up the Metroid Dread pin badge pack. Postage was a couple of quid so it seemed like a worthwhile price.

Well done Super Dragon and BOR - glad you both enjoyed it. What did you think of the final boss and chase sequence afterwards?

Smashing it with 100% items is a massive achievement. I was happy enough to be able to finish it at all - I might play the game in the new easy setting one day to focus more on item scavenging, but even on easy I probably wouldn't be able to find everything...so well done again.

I think they said in the Direct the Boss Rush mode was dropping in April - I wonder if we'll hear something soon on a more specific date (beginning of April would be nice).

Don't worry, you have a good 3 or 4 years to finish Prime 3 in that case - and then will you even be able to get hold of Switch 2 from the scalpers.

I liked the hyper beam, but it lasted for a short time and it would be nice to have it a bit longer so I can have blast at everything. The chase sequence was pretty good and it was a nice way to escape.

I thought it was quite well done. I had been expecting a dash to the gunship when I saw that the passage was blocked but I enjoyed having to find a different route instead of following the path that I'd already explored.

The final boss was very well done as you had to use a variety of tactics in each stage of the fight. I think that Dread has given me some of my most enjoyable boss fights as they all tended to be a bit tricky at the start but very rewarding when you work out how to tackle them with Samus' abilities.

 I agree with you there! It's why I don't mind the lack of information on Prime 4 as it gives me plenty of time to get to 3 :shifty:

Started this at the end of last week; really enjoying it, especially now the suit is getting souped up (just got the grappling hook). Feels pretty fast paced; has different feel compared to super metroid. Not overly fussed on the emmi, they're a bit annoying; other than that though the only minor annoyance is now the map has opened up it can take a bit of traversal getting to where you need. Maybe I'm just missing some shortcuts between sections though!

Wow, what a great finish to a great game! The escape really was down to the wire; escaped with just 3secs left on the clock!

Ha, same - I loved it though.

The Boss Rush mode is due this month - I wonder if we'll hear a specific launch date in the next couple of days

Boss Rush is available now; it downloaded for me right after I had just 100% it. :toot: Had to use a guide for some of the spinesharks. The Burenia missile tank+ in particular was a real pain! :x

This game

I'm getting a lot of replayability out of this game - I've completed twice first playthrough then it hard mode and might complete it in rookie mode - just for a more relaxing playthrough.

HOWEVER, as great as the boss rush is I would appreciate being able to save. I probably take as long as alot of people to get through the boss rush as they do the main game - I can put in sleep to pause my playtime but can't use my Switch for anything else as it kicks me back to the beginning

Anyone tried the boss rush mode yet - any decent times?
