File complete time was 8:40 with a 44% item completion. It’s only been 10 days since I first played so I can’t seem my stats yet, but I’m guessing my overall playtime was more than double that.

Great game, and actually a great final boss, just a slightly crappy 1st form. But I have not enjoyed a boss heavy game so much for a long long time.

And thanks guys for your words of encouragement that kept me going!

Hard mode next :P

Congrats Kaz - thats a heck of an achievement! :toot: It really is a great game isn't it.

What did you think of the timed escape sequence after you beat the boss? Best part of the game IMO

I was dreading it (heh), as I hate timed sequences, but it was actually really cool and a proper throwback to Super Metroid.

Thanks very much!

I have never been happier to not be a completionist, and I would never manage some of those shine spark areas (where its getting in to Celeste territory), but I think its excellent that there is so much still to discover for people who really want to get every last thing out of the game.

I should be able to check my play time today and see just how many hours I put in to it. I'm guessing it will fall in to the "more than 15 hours" range.

Going for 100% is not too tricky in this, it has various elements that direct you toward where items are.

This is actually the first Metroid game that I've achieved 100% on I believe

How long did it take you Jen?

I just opened the 5th area now, have the quick run so I can blast through locked doors. Will probably go for 100%

About 12 hours I think? It's definitely not a mega challenge, I think I had to look up a hint for one shinespark puzzle but otherwise most things were easy enough to search out and get!

I got lost for a few hours before finding my way. Just took out the water boss. Probably my favourite so far however, now I know the pattern its very easy.

Yeah pattern recognition is the key to bosses - as it says in one of the loading hints no attack is unavoidable, if you work out their patterns and "tells" then you can evade and counter everything they throw at you

My only issue with the game is the emmi will come into the room you are in even if it hasn’t sensed you. Pulls the immersion our of the game as it seems rubber banded to you.

Just started this, my first ever Metroid.

I love the atmosphere and style.
I agree the rocket launcher is annoying.
Think I'm going to enjoy this.

if you tilt the joy stick down while dashing you can store it for a bit and release it again with A. thats how you get those ones. but watch out they get absurdly precise

so youve got to find a nearby area to build up speed in and try and get there in time. you can store the dash again if you need to but it gets very tricky

now into the final knockings i think, as been told where to find the main villain. So it's now time to backtrack fully and find all the energy tanks and missile upgrades i can.

I received this as a Christmas present but only just started it. I've just played the first hour and a half but it feels fantastic to be playing Metroid game again after so long*! The familiar Metroid theme during the opening summary of the story really helped to set the scene and I'm really enjoying how the game feels fast-paced with Samus' fluid movements.

I've just taken down the second EMMI - being chased by then is a lot more tense than I expected and moreso than what I remember of the SAX from Fusion. I'm interested to see how to story unfolds and who the Chozo was from Samus' arrival on the planet, what caused her to lose her abilities and how the X Parasite returned.

I'm excited!!! :toot:

*I had tried to get into Prime 3 a few months ago but a combination of the slow start and a late night stopped me from getting very far/having the engagement to go back. I'll try it again after this, and before Prime 4.
