I would be very happy to just have creeping unease from the environment and not be scared out of my wits thank you.

Having only ever finished Fusion, I decided to give Super Metroid a go. I remember getting stuck as a kid, but figured being over a decade older I'd be just fine. But holy strawberry floating gooseberry fool do I just have no clue where the suit to move through water normally or grapple beam are. Despite not having the latter, I've cheesed many rooms that require it by instead using well placed frozen enemies with the ice beam, and found the x-ray goggles which should make it easier to find secrets, and ergo find one of the 2 power-ups I actually need. But no. After combing the entire map once again I've found a lot of secret stuff, but it's other optional extras like more missiles, or just more areas I can't access yet. So I'm at a complete loss, and I really don't want to use a guide or look anything up online, but I've gone over the entire map at least 5 times now. Can anyone who's beaten the game perhaps help give tips as to what area I should sextuple check?

Was also thinking how wildly inaccessible Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion are to get hold of and play.
Released 17 and 19 years ago on the Gameboy Advance, with the only other option to get hold of them since being on the Wii U eshop (or getting Fusion as a 3DS ambassador)

Will Nintendo add a GBA option on Switch Online or add them to the eshop so people can get to experience them for the first time? Of course not.

I'd love to get a GBA emulator on Switch. I really want to replay Fusion before Dread comes out and the Switch would be perfect for it

I.e. still inaccessible given the infinite amount of time it takes for the Wii U to boot up

Keep an eye on the website, they had a pre-order incentive over the weekend where if you ordered over £100 of games you got 10% off. I took advantage so it works out about £38, they will likely bring that offer back before this comes out.

Ok. This will guide you to the next item you need. I've broken it up into chunks so you can spoil as much or as little as you want.

Head towards where you found the Ice Beam. The corridor just to the left of the Norfair entrance that you have to run through will have some Power Bomb blocks in the floor before the next door.

Go through them and work your way around the rooms until you break into a room that has a door in the floor. The door at the top of this room will take you back to the entrance of Norfair, the middle door to a save room, the right door back to the eastern parts of Norfair. Go through the door in the floor.

Fight and kill Crocomire, then head left.
(Shoot her in the mouth and force her back into the lava).

Go left and work your way down to the bottom of the tall shaft. Right hand door leads to a missile expansion. Go through the door in the floor.

Use power bombs to clear space.

Speed-boost then jump off the ramp to the left.

Go through door on the left.

That item should allow you to progress some more.

Oh man, yep, I'm real dumb. I kept using the super dash thing. Didn't even think to just jump normally. I hate myself.

Luckily I’ve still my GBA SP and both games stashed away somewhere. You’d have thought this would be an ideal time to release a GameBoy family for the Switch online, so you can play all of the Metroid games on one system, all of the most recent versions if they release Samus Returns on it (unlikely I’d guess), kind of wished I’d bought a copy of Samus Returns for the 3DS now though, prices have probably shot up since Dread was announced.

Well, this year we are getting games that have strong ties to the history of GBA (2D Metroid, Advance Wars, WarioWare) so maybe this September we will get GBA added to NSO? Bloody hope so

I've beaten it before and I still got rather stuck at this point last night. :slol:

Devlin would be so ashamed if he watched me play :fp:
