Hearing calm Pedz is such a contrast to hearing you on Gears.

But seriously, great work! what mic were you using? Sounded great!

I use a Blue Yeti, but also have a few filters set up on OBS to make it sound a little better.

Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

I too enjoyed this Pedz.

Sweet, thanks for checking it out.

Do you think we'll get DLC for this?

Would love a 5 hour campaign

I've just got to what I think is the final boss so I'm going to stop and do an item search. Always enjoy these, powering through the levels hunting for items

9 hours 18 gametime so far, 49% hours.

Have loved it to be honest. Exactly what I wanted from a 2D Metroid on Switch.

Depending on if you're searching for items, maybe a 2-3 hours.

On my second go round I have been playing for 7 hours and 22 minutes, I can fight the last boss whenever id like and have 63 percent of items
Looking at my old save it took me 14hours and 20 minutes or so and I only finished with 71 percent of items. I really didn't think I would play it again so soon but I have been enjoying just as much this time around.

Cool, I was thinking of waiting until I get to the last boss and then go round getting some items to power myself up a bit.

I doubt they'd add a full DLC campaign, most I can see them adding is a boss rush mode of some sort (which I'd definitely be down for)

I wouldn't :slol:

Maybe I'm just not great at the game but winning most boss fights end for me with huge relief, the thought of doing them one after another.... :dread:

I haven't even done the final boss yet either.

I will the majority of Nintendo new games on Switch have DLC in form, and in many cases it has been paid. It would make sense for me to have MercurySteam continue working on some kind of DLC campaign they can sell for £20.

Think I'm pretty much on verge of finishing so going to mop up the items. Aside from a few frustrations it's a fantastic game. Running round fully powered up always is mind.

Shame some outlets are insistent on writing bollocks about it. Kotaku really don't like this game do they?

Genuinely think a lot of people who don't like the game just aren't very good at it. And that's fine, not all games have to be for everyone.

I do not thing this would be the same game without the challenge. When it all comes together it feels so good.

If they could release DLC which takes the Emmi out entirely, then uses the massive empty areas they inhabited for no real reason (other than to justify the word dread in the title) to have some more stuff like shine spark puzzles in, that'd be good.

The emmi are the only thing that stops me giving this a 10/10. As per Pedz's review, if they'd not been so rigidly confined to those areas, you'd have been more weary of them. I'm not talking roaming everywhere, as that would be gooseberry fool and probably was playtested out to what we have now, but to at least be in the areas around there zones, like they might show up if you use missiles, so you have to navigate a section with restricted abilities.

I think the issue is that Metroid's structure doesn't really lend itself that well to a separate DLC campaign. You'd either start it with everything from the main game, eliminating much of the need to explore to find new items to progress (unless they could think of new stuff, but by the end of Dread there's very little I can think of that would be an obstacle to Samus) or arbitrarily get dropped down to absolutely nothing again which would just feel a little silly.
If it came after the main game chronologically it'd also mean creating an entirely new setting given that ZDR is now just space dust

You could start fully powered up where you left off but have the DLC introduce some new items. I'm sure there's stuff that didn't make the cut for this that they could reuse. Just a smaller map, with few items and some big bosses based around those abilities and you're good to go.

That's fine. Kotaku are like Blanka mains: just ignore them, don't interact with them, and hope they go away.

Kinda have to agree. Beat Kraid on hard mode last night and felt like a bad ass.

People's strategies towards EMMIs seems all wrong to me, just run the strawberry float away until you can get access to the omega cannon. If they get too close and you can time it right you can wall jump over them.
