I’m very happy with the reports that Dread is well on the way to becoming the best selling game in the Metroid series.

I also feel for anyone who will now try to buy physical copies of the previous entries and experience the same financial agony as Fire Emblem fans.

Also: TIL parrying an EMMI automatically opens all exits that were locked when it saw you. Meaning it will 100% be part of the speedrun.

Ok where the hell do you go after getting the Wave Beam? I’ve discovered Hanubia but can’t get past the first couple of rooms. I think I’m missing the power bomb but no idea where it is.

Getting close to the end so have been doing a bit of a clear up in some of the areas, got at least three of them up to around 90% items now. Having a lot of fun figuring out shinespark puzzles now that I've got more familiar with some of the tech.

In terms of power ups I think I'm just missing power bomb and I'm assuming the ice beam will drop when I kill off the last EMMI, after I've got those I'll do a big round up of all the items and hopefully beat the game over the weekend.

If you’re that far you should already have it

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with this but I think I’m done now; I’m stuck on the last boss but I’m sick of taking the lift up to him after dying and after 10 or more times it’s so frustrating!

The load points for all the EMMI’s were great; why change this now! :dread:

I didn't think I'd 100% this - and I might still give up if there are any particularly difficult shinespark puzzles to come  - but I've got 100% on all but two of the zones now. It might be happening!

Not usually a huge fan of, like, treasure hunts in games, and I'm not a completionist at all, but this game somehow makes going back to hunt for secrets really fun. I think it's mostly because of how good the map is, and how some of the late game stuff lets you move around so quickly. Particularly, it's cool that all the teleporters get linked up to each other once you've accessed them all.

Which one? I don't think I've done any sequence breaks unless it was by accident, last items I got were cross bomb then Wave Beam
Unless I just ended up circumventing something by going round the houses picking up tanks lol

Ice isn't on a beam, it's back as Ice Missiles. You get it from EMMI 5 in Ghavoran.

Got this for £35 from Curry's. Looking forward to it. Despite loving Prime, I've never really played a 2D metroid before.

What the-

I didn't know that thing you spoilered and would Really have appreciated it when I was going for the 100 percent!

Anyone else who is endgame and going for clean-up I recommend you read that, in case you're as silly as me and missed it?

Just in case: remember to hammer missile during the parry cutscene animation - I don't think they make it that obvious that you can?!

For winged phase shots I found just circling him using space jump the best way (compared to dashing).

His screen-length charge you slide under, the screen-sized red wave you can morph-ball beneath.

It Is tough though! But you gradually get better and learn the tells :)

I only noticed it after I beat the final boss, getting 100% beforehand. Only reason I was back in was because someone mentioned an environmental detail I wanted to check out.

Got really confused when I tried to use it.
