In terms of power ups I think I'm just missing power bomb and I'm assuming the ice beam will drop when I kill off the last EMMI, after I've got those I'll do a big round up of all the items and hopefully beat the game over the weekend.

If you’re that far you should already have it

Which one? I don't think I've done any sequence breaks unless it was by accident, last items I got were cross bomb then Wave Beam
Unless I just ended up circumventing something by going round the houses picking up tanks lol

Ice isn't on a beam, it's back as Ice Missiles. You get it from EMMI 5 in Ghavoran.

Oh fair I already have that maybe I just forgot that I killed that EMMI already

Anyone been paying attention to the criticism Mercury Steam have been getting for not crediting their workers?
When I beat it I did notice that the credits were really short.

Yeah, it's bullshit. The idea of having to work on the game for 25% of its dev time is nonsense. Credit space isn't limited, you can put everyone in. If someone modelled one enemy, for example, they worked on the game, credit them for their work.

It's an unfortunate stain on a really great experience and I hope it reverses industry-wide.

Definitely soured the experience a bit. It's not only MS but that's no excuse.

Credits in the industry are by what I can tell completely broken and used primarily as leverage over workers.

Activision was basically formed in the 80's due to this.

We have come so far.....

I was going to say, looks entirely like a mechanic to force employees to stay.

Anyone who worked a second on the project should be in the credits.

Apologies for going back to talking about the game for a moment but blimey, the seventh EMMI is an utter bastard.

 Great NMH-esque moment. Makes me feel better disposed towards the sixth EMMI now, knowing it was essentially the last one.

Right, it's 100%ing time!

By forcing people to stay and work through shitty conditions to make sure their name gets in the credits.

Rockstar, a company infamous for crunch, use to only credit people who worked there when the game shipped no matter how much they worked on the game. Which is incredibly scummy.

As Tomous says, many studios won't put your name in the credits unless you work on the game for the full duration of development and are still there when it's finished. If you work in the industry chances are you would really like to be credited for the work you do (of course you would!), and many studios exploit that to control their employees and dissuade them from leaving - which could be for better pay, better working conditions, or any reason that someone might want a new job.

The industry should unionise, and use their collective bargaining power to ensure that anyone who works on a game gets credited for it.

As you are a writer, imagine if you wrote some of the dialogue in a game, but then got a new job before the game was finished because you moved across the country. There's a good chance at the moment you wouldn't get your name in the credits for that game even though you could play it and hear the lines you wrote.

It's also rubbish from a history and preservation point of view, that credits in games aren't giving accurate information on who was involved, and when considering games as art it's basically sacrilege to not be crediting the creators appropriately.

Geez that is just awful. I feel bad for everyone who’s been left out. Not crediting them for taking other jobs is just petty

Yeah that was a good moment. From the oh strawberry float off moment of it entering that small space, to being gone straight away.

For anyone who cares the special edition is in stock at Nintendo UK store and game. So sucks a bit they sold out of stock and then just replenished it immediately.

I paid £95 for mine on ebay and finally arrived as the guys payment card expired.

The book is actually very decent I'd say almost on par with hyrule historia etc in terms of quality and artwork repro it's also heavy as strawberry float and the box is massive. I love the old school monsters designs which is principally why I got it as I used to draw like that.

Holo card prints are nice but it a little thin I thought they were lenticular. They are very well printed though with spot UV matte parts giving them dimension. Framed as I plan they'll look great.

So the proper book is the star, the steel book is also very nice but a bit superfluous.

Interestingly the case is labelled "bundle version" and is made in Japan, not Germany, which will be interesting to spot for collectors and people splitting out the game in 20 years as you could easily remove the hard plastic sleeve the box came in (free box protector lol) without breaking the seals and then swap the game.

Maybe that it's made in Japan and exported to Germany is partly why it's so strawberry floating expensive as definitely overpriced.

Sorry if this has already been covered in the thread (I'm not following because of spoiler-fear), but I only just read about this glitch.

"We are aware of an error in the Metroid Dread game that prevents the player from proceeding when the specific sequence below is followed near the end of the game," it reads. "We are preparing a software update to prevent this error, which should be available in October 2021.

"Near the end of the game, if the player destroys a door while a map marker for that specific door is displayed on the map, the game will forcibly close and the following message will appear: 'The software was closed because an error occurred.'

But it's not fatal:
Players are advised to restart the game and remove the door icon map marker to prevent the error, at least until the software update arrives.

Yeah same, only just got the game today so appreciate the spoiler efforts. That's an very obscure bug to put a marker on the last door in the game and it's a simple case of reloading the game and removing it, good to announce what the bug is so it can be avoided. I'll give them a pass. I've played games that just straight up die at a certain point early in the game (skylanders for wii) and are never fixed or reissued or recalled so you literally can't play the game.
