Naturally picked up a few artifacts on my way and I'll see where the game nudges me to pick up next couple but I'm probably going to consult a guide for the rest.....
Struggled with Omega Pirate so not looking forward to whatever the last bosses are!
The artifact temple gives you very explicit hints as to which exact room each artifact is in, so you may not need a guide.
Thanks you were right. Wasn't looking forward to it, but quite enjoying the artifact hunt (its a bit like Wind Wakers Triforce shard quest that feels a bit like filler but I quite like it).
Because I've spent so much of this game getting lost - I now know the map quite well, where everything is and which elevators connect to which other section etc - plus I'm quite powerful and have access to all areas so its quite fun moving around the map and finding these artifacts.
At this point, I really like the overworld map! The way it fits together and flows is super clever AND.....its not that big! I wonder about MP4; like is MP1 map more like Zelda Links Awakening overworld (small but full so feels big) and in terms of scale will MP 4 be more like Zelda BotW. Way bigger but obviously still all tight corridors and gated progression. I can't see modern gamers putting up with some of the things in MP in a new game - MP4 will probably have more save points, map waypoints and fast travel (or at least flow more like dread so that traversal becomes less of a struggle) which might allow for a bigger and more packed world.
p.s. Sorry I naturally use a lot of Zelda comparisons when talking about metroid
