Mashed was gooseberry fool, Micro Machines wasn't.

What the hell are you on? Mashed was great.

Whatever was the latest version in '99, me and a friend used to play it non-stop.

Now I tend to play Mashed a bit more in college, we still have visitors come and say "Oh cool, Micro Machines"

On a related note, there should be more games these days where you are a tiny little man running about an everyday house, Chibi Robo stylee.

I, er, like that kind of thing. :shifty:

Why Angry Face? Should I have spoilered it? :shifty:

There's no need to be here any longer than necessary. Let's split up, look for survivors, and get out of here.

I have a gaming blog too. Read it if you wish; if you don't I won't take it too personally. Metro 2033 is shite!

Anything to help my Bro 8-)
It's interesting to look at Micro Machines historically to see it's ancestors, what it inspried in the future, and what it was up against at the time. It inspired so much, yet at the same time borrowed from others. Arguably the finest iterations were the Mega Drive versions, but V3 wasn't all bad by a long chalk. For one thing, there was LOADS of track variety, some great touches in there - like using blocks of cheese as ramps amongst others. It also has the greatest front end of all time - it was you driving around a makeshift town, wasn't it? Leaping over bridges etc to get to different game modes and such. Simply brilliant. The bad thing about 3d was that they felt the need to give tracks countours, such as steep inclines, downhill sections which were difficult to spot. The addition of weapons was really bad at all, and the game lost its sense of purity. It's all about getting a screen away from your mates, being in front making you unable to see what bends were coming until it was too late, strawberry float giant hammers and such bollocks. In that way, you had to know the tracks inside out - you's use markers on the roadside as a guide, "right, I need to start slowing down once I pass the pencil sharpener" or "when I get to the end of this dinner plate I need to slam the brakes on."

MMV3 on PS1 is amazing, MMV4 on PSP is strawberry floating awful. Micro Machines on the go - how can it go wrong? Because they changed the strawberry floating camera for starters. :|

I had that one. It was ok but not amazing - better than the latest one but not as good as MM V3.

I got really excited a year or two ago when it was announced Codemaster has the license back and were doing a MM4 - then it came out and was pretty much awful.

The one above was made by Atari and was pretty much them copying MMv3 and trying to tart it up a bit but it came off as an inferior clone sadly, worth a look on the cheap though, still fun in multiplayer too.

Yeah you could on MM2, the cars you used where about half the size they normally where.

It was on a J-Cart which basically meant that the cartridge had 2 extra joypad ports built in so with four controllers on the Mega Drive you could have 8 players (2 people per pad) which was quite manic on the rare few occasions I got to try it.

An online enabled HD version of MM2 on Live Arcade/PSN would be one of the best things ever.

I'd think, "gee they should put this on XBLA".

EDIT - I'm not trying to belittle your idea, but I really want it on XBLA mostest. :(

I had v3 for the pc when i was younger and absolutely loved it. Back then it was as close as me and my friends got to Mario Kart for pure multiplayer enjoyment.
