I called this last week, makes so much sense (apart from the Android/iOS bit)

The last couple of weeks leading up to E3 have been good for anyone that loves insider information. Today’s leak is the largest one yet, and comes from Microsoft. The people behind "Xbox" and "Xbox Live" will be revealing the Xbox Smart Glass tablet behind closed doors to a select group of people. In the official “Microsoft Confidential” presentation, they specifically noted this:

Xbox Smart Glass is a companion application for Xbox LIVE that will allow users to control their Xbox (e.g., transport controls, content discovery and search). The Xbox Smart Glass companion application will be optimized for Windows Tablets and Phones and also made available to iOS/Android Tablets and Phones.

Activities will be made available within the Xbox Smart Glass companion application. Activities will be tied to existing and new applications on Xbox (e.g., Zune Music will have an activity). We will demo Xbox Smart Glass experiences for nearly all of our major brand partners at E3 (existing plus new partners).

The Xbox Smart Glass companion application will have the ability to play video on Tablets/Phones and send the videos to Xbox to play on the TV.

Additionally, we will demo Xbox Smart Glass capabilities (see slide 12) but at no time will we show any video content playing on a Tablet/Phone device.

I'm not sure what to expect from this conference.. Looking forward to Halo 4 kicking things off as I can't wait to see the campaign for the first time and i'm hoping they can finally tell us just what the hell Forza Horizon is about. But they'll no doubt be a lot of time spent on the 'entertainment' side of things. They could spring a surprise I suppose and unveil a new piece of software or something that does actually sound pretty awesome to use so you never know. I'm not expecting many first party game announcements (not until next E3) but that said I wasn't expecting a new Gears to be unveiled so Microsoft could still have a few surprising announcements up their sleeves.

Not entirely understanding what the 'smart glass' does, is it basically turning your phone into an Apple remote?

Are we doing predictions?

Xbox Lite

Super slim Xbox 360, massive HDD, improved hardware, all games run in 1080p, without frame drops and hardware AA.

Launching 6th November.

I think MS will look at what Sony did with the slim PS2, they launched it on the same day as San Andreas and sold a fuck-ton of them to people who already owned a regular PS2. If MS drop a new machine (that actually improves graphics!) on the same day as Halo 4 and one week before CoDBlops2 they'll probably shift 10m of the things by Christmas.

I still haven't bought a 360 S :fp:

I reckon there'll be a price cut.

A console revision that improves the graphics is also known as "a new generation of console".

5:15pm pre-show:
Learn more about Human Element from @robotoki & @fourzerotwo during our special E3 Pre-Show on Monday at 12:15p ET/9:15a PT on your Xbox 360

https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/ ... 2271810563

Info on Human Element (next-gen game coming 2015) from Codename 47's post:
Robert Bowling, previously a creative strategist but now president of the development studio Robotoki, knows how to build buzz for a game. It hasn't been more than 3 months since Robotoki was founded, and here Bowling is announcing his first game. Introducint Human Element, a zombie apocalypse game coming in 2015 for next-gen consoles, tablets and mobile. After all, why wait for news to be leaked and all of his fun to be ruined?

Why another zombie game, Robert Bowling? Bowling claims there's no greater conflict than a zombie apocalypse -- the perfect setting for his studio's debut game:

“Their greatest strength is the fear that [zombies] instill in us, the survivors, that unreasonable fear. Unreasonable fear that leads us to do unreasonable things to survive."

Bowling even has a few details on how his zombie game will play out. You'll be able to pick a character from three different classes, action, stealth and intelligence, with three different identities, surviving alone, surviving with a partner, and surviving with a child.

“How you choose to start in the world will determine how you can engage and impacts the scenarios you will be presented with on a physical and morality level.”

More details on Robert Bowling's games are sure to be revealed in the, uh, next three years. Seriously, this guy knows how to maximize the visibility of a game, and you can expect him to keep fans excited the whole long way until the game is released.

Speaking of release, the game was announced not only for next gen consoles, but for mobile and tablets. We're curious to see what sort of network Robotoki has planned for Human Element's universe. Expect more news in Game Informer's July issue, which has a 4-page article on Human Element.
