Of course they will have cherry picked the best output from many bad ones, but that is incredible.

When it’s used to lock up an innocent person due to some realistic video footage of them committing a crime nobody will be laughing.

The whole point of AI was to enslave computers into doing all the menial work humans don’t like so we can spend more time being creative, not the other way around.

Id be more impressed it GPT could 100% take care of my tax return.

Prompt: Setup a web forum based on peace and love, where people post heartwarming messages that are supportive and understanding. The sun shines, clear rain falls and people dream.

This isn't a new scenario though. It's been possible to convincingly doctor photographs for decades.

Evidence always has and will continue to need to be presented in context and come from a trusted source.

Say what you like about AI, but at least we now know what Jack the Ripper looked like.

Google pauses AI-generated images of people after ethnicity criticism

The images generated of German soldiers in 1943.

Why is this being treated by the world's snowflakes as the most critical incident of modern times?! :fp:

Why Google's 'woke' AI problem won't be an easy fix

The usual fedora-wearing misogynist Royalty figures have been losing their minds over it. I'm not keen to tell people what they should and shouldn't be offended by, but good grief, who knew images of people created by machines could cause so much upset?!

From that BBC article:

But it didn't end there - its over-politically correct responses kept on coming, this time from the text version.

Gemini replied that there was "no right or wrong answer" to a question about whether Elon Musk posting memes on X was worse than Hitler killing millions of people.

How is that "politically correct", let alone overly so?

It's also not "woke" or "politically correct" for AI to show Nazis as black or Asian. Quite the opposite in fact.
