Microsoft acquire ZeniMax Media. Sounds like everything will be exclusive to Game Pass platforms.

Anything to do with games at all.

Where are you playing exclusive Bethesda games in the future?

Yeah, that's the one. I played it on GamePass last year and thought it would have been deemed an average at best platformer in 2003. Like one of those Tasmanian Tiger/Pac Man World/Tak and the Juju (or whatever) releases.

So MS own Elder scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstien, Prey and Dishonoured. Maybe they can start by making them all work on some quality control.

They could have set up a lot of new development studios with that money and create new IPs

Why bother with that when you could just buy a publisher and their portfolio of developers with established franchises outright, I guess.

Microsoft really do love their gritty shooters don't they.

I'm going to be really sad if future DOOM games don't come to playstation, but I could honestly pass on everything else. Especially the Bethesda games :dread:

Just heard the news and wow!  It doesn't seem real.

This is a great deal for MS, just so many top IP and talent. I'm now going to spend the rest of the day dreaming about a Halo/Doom crossover :datass:

Surely stuff like TES, Doom and upcoming big games like Starfield will still be multi plat? They’ve just spent 7.5 billion on it and they’re going to want to see some money back sooner rather than later if they can.

I've no idea, but it doesn't really change my point which is its a shame Microsoft have just been buying up studios to fill the gap in exclusives they have, rather than setting up new studios with new IPs. I get that is much more of a risk and harder to do though and understand why they're doing it from a business perspective. Still, sucks.

Yeah, I cannot imagine the big games staying exclusive to MS platforms.

As for the acquisition: strawberry floating hell

Swing and a miss for Microsoft.

Honestly can't remember the last time I would have got hype for a bethesda game.

It's definitely a swing and a hit whatever your allegiance. Most of the PS exclusives don't really do it for me but I can appreciate that they are popular and sell systems

Here's a hint, they bought them. Just like they did with Psygnosis (RIP), Insomniac, Bend Studio, Sucker Punch, Guerilla, and Media Molecule.

Maybe they should have spent that money setting up new studios instead...
