Microsoft acquire ZeniMax Media. Sounds like everything will be exclusive to Game Pass platforms.

Anything to do with games at all.

Where are you playing exclusive Bethesda games in the future?

I couldn't care less about Elder Scrolls and Fallout but gooseberry fool, this is huge news. Bethesda publish games from great series.

I'd still opt for a PS5 over an Xbox any day of the week but if Bethesda's entire catalogue becomes Xbox exclusive, that'll really suck.

Well, this is a surprise. There were talks of Microsoft scooping up another big studio, but I never expected it to be this big. The back catalogue of Bethesda games on Game Pass, including all the new ones, is insane value.

Also shows the importance of Sony and Nintendo’s investment in their own studios, because in a world of Microsoft, Google and Amazon, these companies can just come along and buy up any third party studio they want.

Smart money would be on Square Enix I reckon given their history with Sony. I understand it was Sony that bailed them out when Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within flopped.

I don't think Sony could afford Square Enix.

Having seen the figures that does certainly seem to be case.

Now that is a game changer for Xbox, I guess this'll work out the same way as the Minecraft has, Bethesda games will come to other consoles with extra benefits for Xbox users.

There is no need for Microsoft to make any of these games exclusive. Including them with Game Pass is reason enough. If they want to throw them up on PS5 and people are willing to pay £70 (!) for them, then it's stil extra revenue for them.

I can see a lot of PS5 owners buying the Series S for Game Pass

Ori IP is owned by MS but Moon Studios is making something else. Super Lucky's Tale? was published by MS, don't know who actually owns it, probably Playful who also released New Super Lucky's Tale.

For the next few years the games will be multi plat but further down the road who knows. ElderScrolls 6 for £60-£70 on PS5 but on Gamepass, Xbox and PC for free is going to be pretty big.

Huge for Microsoft and Xbox, very much doubt they’d make many of their games exclusive as they’d just be chucking a chunk of money down the drain for not selling to PS5 players, most maybe timed exclusives. For people fully on board with Game Pass the value of it just keeps going up and up if everything comes to Game Pass and then they continue to sell on the other platforms.

They're going to announce they've bought Nintendo tomorrow.

They could have set up a lot of new development studios with that money and create new IPs
