I've been looking at the "Backbone One" controller but it's about £100 so I'll probably still with the controllers I have already.

The series x one works with my android tablet, but thats an old samsung tab a and is slow as anything.

I wouldn’t mind one of those controllers that holds the phone rather than using an actual games console controller.

I have a Razer Kishi which is pretty good,

https://www.razer.com/mobile-controller ... 60100-R3U1

I have the android version its the same, makes the phone feel not a million miles from a switch, just a bit bulkier.

Looks nice, but a bit pricey.

Yeah, mine was free so less of a worry, what is good is they don't have a battery they connect via USB C and are powered from that, they also have a USB C in port too so you can connect to power and keep your phone charged, very handy.

Free always good. I will get one of those attachment things. Was playing halo on my tablet last night and it worked pretty well.

I have always found xCloud to be utterly unplayable, but I'm not sure if that's because my phone is ancient or because my connection is not quick enough. I doubt it's the latter as I'm on 100 Mbps but it always shows as the poor connection notification on my phone.

What's your WiFi like. 100Mbps is your connection to your router if your wireless is gooseberry fool it can be way way way lower than that in devices.

Get the Fast or Speedtest app and see what you are actually getting.

I've found it brilliant on my phone, have played a few things and it's been brilliant.

Your connection is so fast that it allows you to time travel.

Ha, my phone clock has always been fast and I've never bothered to change it.

I changed broadband provider recently and got a new WiFi router out of it and that has made a big difference to the xCloud experience for me. There is still a bit of perceptible lag which makes some twitchier games just a bit annoying but it's far better than it was before.

I've played quite a bit of it on my phone recently and can see it becoming a fairly common use case for me :toot:

You may want to get your clock synced and see if it fixes your network problem.

Your latency looks okay though at 15MS. I guess it's somehow your phone screens refresh rate or something like that if you're having problems playing games.

It is a very old phone. I'm planning to get another soon so hopefully that'll sort the issue out. I have sorted the clock. :toot:

Dabbled about on my work PC (I have at home at mo) and it works really well, not well enough for Halo/Doom Eternal but The Fallout/Elder scrolls games all work as intended as you don't need lightning reflexes. Gears Tactics obviously fares well and reckon those kinda games along with pillars of eternity and Wasteland 3 etc will be fine. Looks like ill be packing my controller and cable into my bag when I go back to the office :)

Does it support 5GHz wifi? When I tried it on 2.4GHz on my old tablet it was a lot more laggy.

Edit: got invited to the beta yesterday btw!

I wouldn't even know how to check.

Edit - connection says 2.4G / 5G.

Most WiFi routers these days will pump out both 5 and 2.4, the key is making sure your phone connects to the right one. Usually you can set the SSID to a different name for the 5ghz network so it's clear that you are connected to that one.

No beta invite here sadly :(

It's working well here, think lag is more noticeable on the 30fps games I tried though. Eager to try it again when it's running on the new gen hardware, I'm not keen on going back to Xbox One performance for any real length of time.

I have an iPhone and router that both have WiFi 6, and a Gigabit connection out, so this iOS beta has been utterly flawless. In terms of picture quality and latency, probably the best I’ve seen, but it’s kinda hard to tell how much of that is the tiny screen vs streaming something in 4K on the TV.

One downside though is that my phone gets extremely hot almost immediately, and these loading times are a shock to the system, so I’ll never actually play a game for any real length of time this way, but it’s a handy way to demo some gamepass titles without having to faff around with the console’s limited storage and juggle installs around.

My wifi is never consistently 150mbps, it keeps going up and down. Even on the ps5, on fifa, i get a bad ping rate. I have a feeling having all of these devices in close proximity is causing signal issues and may try and go the powerline route to get a more stable connection.

I can't use a my controller on iOS, I mean, it's paired (even after latest update) but Xcloud doesn't recognize it. :|
