I'm not too familiar with Xbox Cloud gaming but it seems likes it's Microsoft's version of Google Stadia. It'll be interesting to see what improvements XCloud offers over Stadia; and how opinions and perceptions may vary!

I'd love to know when Cloud is coming to console too.

Being able to boot up any game without download time was something that made Stadia great at what it did.. imagine being able to stream the Gamepass library

Wasn't expecting the shift to series X so soon. Looking forward to getting to try this out with some improved graphics and load times.

Since I got my new phone my experience of xCloud has completely changed. It's just utterly brilliant, if they can reduce loading times then it'll be almost perfect. :)

As an iPhone user i can see myself using this every now and then. Almost certainly only for touch based games though, as i have always found pairing controllers to phones and then finding a semi comfortable dock that doesn't cost £60+ OR completely ruin the weight distribution when holding the phone and controller a fruitless task.

Can seem myself playing a bit of Slay the Spire etc on it though, which is great!

Oh hey, this is pretty good, isn't it? My old as gooseberry fool PC doesn't stand a chance of running, say, Doom Eternal, until today!

And also, I finally get to play Fable 2 on PC.

I think it already is, just load the website up via the browser.

Only insiders have the new Edge browser which will allow Cloud on XB1 etc, sounds like everyone will have it very soon though. I expect it'll come before the Flight Sim release on the 27th.

Interesting, I hadn't realised they were swapping to the Series X backend already. I was playing some cloud stuff last night and can't say I noticed any load time improvements, but then j wasn't really looking out for it

Cloud gaming on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One:

Today during today’s Gamescom 2021 Xbox stream we revealed we’re bringing cloud gaming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this holiday, enabling Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play 100+ games right from the cloud and discover new games with the click of a button. It’s a way for console gamers to play some of their favorite games as quickly as possible, jump into games with friends more easily, and try out Xbox Game Pass titles before installing them.

With the ability to play games before you install, it’ll be easier than ever for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to:

Discover and play over 100 high-quality games in the Xbox Game Pass library without having to use valuable storage space or wait for installs.
Quickly jump into the fun with your friends in multiplayer games, like Sea of Thieves, as soon as you get the invite so you can set sail without waiting for an install.
Play Gen 9-only Xbox games like Microsoft Flight Simulator and The Medium on your Xbox One via the cloud – coming in the future.
Bottom line? Cloud gaming on your console further reduces your time to fun! All you have to do is navigate to Xbox Game Pass and look for games with the cloud icon.

Next, click the “Play” button and get to gaming. It’s as simple as that!

We’ll begin testing the experience as part of our Xbox Insider program this fall, so that we can gather valuable feedback and improve the experience. Keep an eye out on Xbox Wire for more details on the rollout and release timing.

To ensure the highest quality experience across the broadest set of devices, we will support up to 1080p and at 60fps just like Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) across PCs, phones and tablets.

For remote play, is your controller connected to your PC rather than the console? I want to set my racing seat up in the office near the PC permanently, although I still play a fair bit of Forza 7 and F1 on the Xbox which is in the living room. I should be okay to plug the steering wheel into the PC and then access the games through the remote play? I know I could redownload Forza 7 on the PC but I don't have a ton of HD space left.

This capability will initially roll out with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers and scale to all gamers in supported markets over the coming weeks.

We know from you that you want to find and try Xbox Game Pass games before you install them — and today we’re enabling just that. Now you can discover and try lots of different titles quickly right from the cloud until you land on the one you may want to also install — which is still the flagship experience for Xbox consoles. In addition to that, getting a game invite from a friend for a game you haven’t downloaded yet is no longer going to stop you from joining right away! We’ve built it so the experience is fast, easy, and a great way to discover your next favorite game while saving space on your hard drive for the games you plan to play again and again.

For Xbox One users, cloud gaming also allows you to play some next gen games on the Xbox One console you already own. This means select games that are currently only playable on Xbox Series X|S, like Recompile, The Medium, and The Riftbreaker, are now playable on your Xbox One with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and cloud gaming. We will also continue to support this capability and expand our cloud game library to include more next gen games like Microsoft Flight Simulator in early 2022.
