If Game Pass could come to my TV as an app that would be incredible and save me shelling out for another box.

Rainway partners with Microsoft to deliver new cloud gaming experience

Rainway’s unique technology for real-time interactive streaming is enabling Microsoft to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more devices through browsers

Seattle, WA - April 19, 2021 – Rainway has partnered with Microsoft to provide its Software Development Kit (SDK) to enhance and streamline Xbox Cloud Gaming technology. Rainway’s browser solution integrates seamlessly into the Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming stack, making it possible to bring Xbox content to gamers through a multitude of devices running Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Safari.

“Our goal at Xbox is to enable gamers around the world to play the games they want, on the devices they want, with the people they want,” said Kevin LaChapelle, Vice President, Xbox Cloud Gaming Platform. “To provide a consistent cloud gaming experience that spans multiple devices, we’re making games available through browser which provides the necessary performance, compatibility and speed that meets the needs of gamers. As we continue on our journey to deliver content on a range of new devices through web, we’re excited to partner with Rainway and utilize their cutting-edge browser technology in our streaming stack.”

They’ll probably invite the same people they keep giving free Xbox credit to (i.e. not me).

The X1 controller already works with iOS and the Series and PS5 controllers will work from tonight with the new iOS update

I've been looking at the "Backbone One" controller but it's about £100 so I'll probably still with the controllers I have already.

Could maybe use that to try games out before downloading, or play while downloading/updating games.

Edit: apparently it's a bit janky through the Xbox Edge browser though.

Yep the idea of being able to pick up a game instantly via streaming and then it downloads for local play in the background is going to make Game Pass even more of a "pick up and play" experience and make trying something new so much more accessible

The series x one works with my android tablet, but thats an old samsung tab a and is slow as anything.

I wouldn’t mind one of those controllers that holds the phone rather than using an actual games console controller.

You can get clips for a few quid that connect to existing controllers and hold the phone, I've got one for my DS4 and it works really well

I have a Razer Kishi which is pretty good,

I have the android version its the same, makes the phone feel not a million miles from a switch, just a bit bulkier.
