Yeah I'd be up for Minecraft 2 looking like that but with higher res blocks.

I cant help but feel like people are missing the point of minecraft somewhat when pining for high res textures and proper light and shading engines.

That's pretty impressive if true and makes the acquisition quite a smart one.

You'd expect Minecraft 2 to shift a crazy amount of copies for them.

They could expand Minecraft 2 in lots of ways with vastly improved AI, and make all the systems that govern minecraft today to be far more complex. So many different Directions, improve combat maybe have clans, armies.... all optional extras but its endless the things they can do with it and all the while leave original alone for the purists.

Break even by June 2015? Seems crazy but if true it must have been a very easy decision to make. Minecraft 2, Minecraft Movie, Star Wars Minecraft etc after that plus profits from Minecraft 1 and any benefits from MS products exclusivity keep pouring in.

I'd be all over Jurassic Park/World Minecraft :shifty:

MS would be idiots to make it exclusive to Xbox only (MC2) . They could make a killing if it was available to all platforms. Sure they'll get few more Xbox sales if they go exclusive but business wise I would make it available to everyone.

I would expect it to be at least timed exclusive. Minecraft is a big draw, would certainly shift a few Xbox Ones.

I'm sure they could do a deal with Lucas/Disney as it makes sense for both of them. I'd buy it :shifty:

In a way, MS could make minecraft like a sort-of version of playstation home but better - releasing downloadable blocky versions of locations, spaceships or whatever from upcoming games.

Or sell them, which is infinitely more likely. The idea of selling minecraft skins still boggles my mind, but i'm not going to dwell on that.

As I've said before, good on Notch for making out like a bandit, bad on Microsoft for spending easily five times more than Mojang's actual value.
