If they up the price and you refuse to pay the extra you lose access the game and to any dlc you may have purchased. Just because it is £4 now doesn't mean it will remain that way. I will be holding off till the first main update tbh. I want to see where they want to go with it.

It's only £4 during this elongated beta period anyway, it will end up at the same price as the Xbox variant eventually.

I still think that's more than a decent price though, as long as there's a few other games you'd play as well.

Anyone who doesn't play this game isn't a real gamer.

You all know it.

Could be a curio or a time sink, either way I'm only playing this on Series X when it hits Gamepass.

I get the appeal to some though.

I've always seen it as one of those games you go all in with or don't bother

I'll probably spend an hour just watching all the amazing views on YouTube instead.

How do you go about getting a PC for this game? I haven't owned a PC since 2008 as I switched to Mac and even back then I would buy my PCs from PC World. Or would it be easier to wait for the Xbox version? Then I just buy an Xbox without having to be concerned about specs.

I'd wait for the Xbox version and just have Gamepass.
Even with a Series X it'll most likely end up being cheaper.

If you have decent internet and something you can connect with Shadow.tech might be an option. I use it and it works great for me. The time between ordering and getting your pc is insane long mind you, but might be worth thinking about (I can do a referral so you get a discount on first month)

The boxed edition on PC comes on 10 DISCS:

Image

It is with great pride that we can announce that Microsoft has chosen Aerosoft as its retail publishing partner for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator .

Aerosoft will bring the two boxed versions of this venerable simulator to customers in Europe. Including 10 (!) double-layer DVD’s and a printed manual in a spectacular box, it is an ideal way of entering the new age of flight simulation.

For the last few months, we have been working closely with the spirited team from Microsoft and the talented developers at Asobo. They have helped us in getting our add-ons ready for the new simulation platform and in a very small way our 27 years of experience assisted in creating this amazing simulator.

We should be able to start shipping the boxes at or around August 21st.

Why they've gone with so many DVDs rather than just 2 or 3 Blu Ray discs I don't know, but there must be a reason for it.

Licencing costs and the amount of DVD drives still around compared to bluray drives I'd imagine.

I had a RW BluRay drive in my Vaio back in 2008, what's been happening over in the 'master race' for the past 12 years.

Every so often I look at BR Drives for PC then wonder why because they're overly expensive and all I would do is watch movies on them. It just seems like a pointless addition.

When I built my pc a few years back I didn't bother with one. I only got a DVD drive in there because it was dirt cheap, and I think I've probably needed to use it about 5 times.

Why not?

It's releasing into Gamepass and on Series X. :shifty:

I'll probably use my mouse and kb for this when it drops... if it looks even close to as good as this on X, I'm gonna be hyped.

I won't be getting an Xbox, and I don't have a personal PC/laptop. Happy to accept any donations :slol:
