It's pretty clear what Microsoft's long term strategy is. The future will be everyone on Game Pass playing games on Azure servers.

It's all about getting people into it. They will concede annual Playstation COD sales to help work towards that goal.

Not at all. Im surprised as it came out of nowhere. Cant imagine theyll make Cod exclusive any time soon.

For $70b, you can be sure that Call of Duty games will be exclusive to Xbox, console wise. It’s a huge system seller.

I was expecting them to buy Ubisoft more than I was expecting Activision.

I just don’t get how this is worth 70 billion, like thats a mind boggling figure to even say, never mind actually buy a company for.

Makes me wonder if Microsoft have made Nintendo an offer if they’re spending this much money on Activision

They did. And they got laughed out of the building.

Well that’s the story. Don’t know if that is true or just an urban legend style story.

Activision and specifically Call of Duty (number 1 selling game every year) plus Warzone make enormous amounts of money, that's not including Blizzard titles...

I think it's true. Microsoft execs claim it is anyway.

Oh I know they have in the past, I recall that story as well, I kind of hope its true as well  I was just thinking that spending a theoretical 70 billion on something like Nintendo would be immensely better value than 70 billion on Activision…….

It's kinda true, they definitely said "f**k off!" more or less when they went to Kyoto to propose the acquisition!

Ah well. If Cod does go exclusive - I'll finally have an exclusive worth buying an xbox for.
