All this talk about MS turning their back on the hardcore is just nonsense. What games were you looking for from them that apparently have been moved aside by kinect? The only dev team that might otherwise be working on some core games seems to be Rare and they don't appear to be working on anything!
I would imagine MS are probably quite happy with their conference. If the reactions of my girls to the Disneyland game and the Star Wars game (whether it looks rubbish to us) are anything to go by, they will be having another big holiday this year.
I agree. I actually thought the MS conference wasn't too bad, loved the Kinect stuff for Ghost Recon and cannot wait to see if they finally implement hand signals for Rainbow Six. It's a definite step in the right direction adding Kinect Support to some proper games.
That said, the Kinect only titles left me a bit underwhelmed, but I can see the appeal. My nephews and nieces will no doubt love to play the Disney game, but the Fable and Star Wars games looked pretty bloody bland.
Yeah, it could have been a better conference, but it could have been a lot worse. I think a lot of the stick it has been getting on gaming forums is unjustified, and it's just a bunch of elitists looking for something else to turn their noses up at. Mind you, the same people were no doubt jizzing themselves at an orchestra playing some Zelda music
