Because that would perfectly tie in with Mattrick's earlier comment, wouldn't it?

Revolutionary new tablet controller. Play 360 games without a tv! Additional screen can also be used as split screen for 2nd player or to display extra ingame stats

My guess is this announcement that'll keep the 360 going for years to come is that they're going to make it kinda open source and let indie devs release stuff for it with no publishing costs/royalties as an extra incentive to get people to buy the new slim model along with it being a method of getting bc with the new console.

They'll keep indie stuff locked down on the One but let them have free reign on the 360 so in theory, loads of new titles still coming out for 360 when the bigger publishers move on and it'll be a nice accompaniment to the One.

That doesn't marry up at all with their treatment of XBLIG and stopping support for C# and XNA.

Perhaps we've misunderstood, and they're announcing a huge 360. Like, the size of the original Xbox.

It has got to be the 360 Lite, maybe all new games will be coming day one to games on demand also.

Am I the only one who genuinely, with possibly two exceptions (both of which were practical and sorely needed rather than aesthetic) could not give a gooseberry fool about companies releasing 'lite' SKUs late in a console's lifetimes?

I mean, wow, it's the same strawberry floating thing.... but a little bit thinner.

Lawdy lawdy I think I had a miscarriage.

Only way I'd consider a new slimmer 360 would be if it was:

a) Tiny
b) Could draw power and send video through the Xbox One so doesn't need it's own plug/HDMI connection to the TV
c) Dirt cheap - around £75 with a decent size hard drive included

What'll probably happen is it'll be a slightly squarer, midly smaller version of the current design for £120 that doesn't connect to the One in any way whatsoever.

Well since the Xbox One has HDMI in I think it's possible it will connect and it has been hinted at.

Harrison: My personal perspective is that backward compatibility is a relatively narrow moment in time. If you want to plug your Xbox 360 into HDMI in, you can.

Isn't the ps2 still sold in Brazil

Probably, but so are tourist's kidneys so I'm not looking to them for capitalist guidance.
