He looks far too young in that trailer.

It looks funny, but I'm struggling to get past that.

I know what you mean - it looks a bit like The Parole Officer 2 in that respect.

I saw a poster and both Empire and Total Film have given it 4 stars.

Total Film review.

Steve Coogan Stand Up Down Under is on Sky Atlantic tonight at 9pm. It's a two parter, following him around New Zealand and Australia.

It wasn't bad, but I thought they made Alan too nice. He came across as a well-meaning fool (presumably because they want you to root for him), rather than the bigoted twat he's supposed to be. That's where his biggest laughs came from.

Been rewatching the old series in preparation for the film. Some quality stuff :D

Hopefully I'll be able to catch Alpha Papa next week.

Alan has been shaped more into this type of character since Mid Morning Matters I feel, I see it more of an evolution than a tone down. I think he's more enjoyable in this and his recent series than he was in the second series of I'm Alan Partridge, which dialed the mental factor up a bit too much.

Saw the movie yesterday, pretty much didn't stop laughing throughout. Definite 9/10.

That scene where he gets his trousers stuck in the window

The spit down his cheek was one of the best bits.

Saw it this afternoon and it was good. Definitely had me laughing all the way through but I agree with Earl Grey. It also seemed like they were more focused on the siege plot than they were of Alan's character.

Think my favourite line was the one about his kids not talking to him anymore.

Right I've seen parts of Partridge and found it funny, yet never properly watched it so I'm going to change that.

Getting these 3, that's everything I need yeah?

Yes, although it gets less funny as it goes along IMO, gets a bit too catchphrase based.

Watch KMKYWAP first, then the Christmas special (vital plot point!), then IAP (comedy gold).

Not too keen on series 2 of IAP as that's where the character starts to get ott in the catchphrases.
