Can you turn off the narrator?

Played a little bit last night and did 3 levels, seems fun enough so far. Hardly GOTY material but pretty fun to waste an hour or two at a time, and I can see kids really loving it.

Can't decide if I like the lack of a class system or not yet. It would've been nice to be able to pick a more spellcaster focused class to begin with, but at the same time simply being able to change up your style on the fly by changing your equipment is fun as well.

Yes, turn off Dialogue Volume in the Audio settings.

No, at the moment you have to buy the Hero Edition for the 2 DLCs at the moment but I assume you'll be able to buy them individually when they come out.

Hero Pass upgrade (the two DLC packs plus cosmetic tat) is £8.39. Seems fair enough, so long as the base game stays in Game Pass.

With Microsoft owning Minecraft I can't see them taking the base game off Game Pass.

I'm going to give it some more time but if I keep enjoying it then £8.39 seems perfectly reasonable for the Upgrade to get the DLC.

Having a new issue today that I didn't have yesterday.

For some reason the gamepad controls are constantly trying to switch back to Keyboard + Mouse controls after every gamepad input.


Edit - The problem was being caused by Steam. For some reason it was attempting to override other applications gamepad input and convert it into mouse movement instead. As soon as I closed down steam Minecraft worked normally.

Downloaded it last night and had every intention to wait to my son woke up to play it, but me and the missus wanted to give it a quick go and before we knew it it was 3am!

Maybe a simplified diablo but it's a lot of fun (which is embarrassing because I remember when it was shown at E3 last year I said I looked gooseberry fool and boring).

One thing that is odd is that Sony are REALLY trying to prevent people finding the game.
Couldn't see it in the featured/hot section of the store which I thought was odd. Couldn't see it anywhere in fact.

I tried searching instead and you'd have thought typing "Minecraft" would have brought it up alongside the main game, but it didn't. It showed the main game and then netflix' Minecraft storymode and all the main game DLC.

Then I started adding "Dungeons" to the search and even here it still didn't show it:





It wasn't until I added the next letter that it finally gave in and shown me the Minecraft Dungeons game.

Then of course you start the game and it has XBOX GAME STUDIOS, so maybe that's why - petty if so!

Started this last night with my girlfriend, did 3 levels (one seemed to be a one-shot side dungeon as it's gone from the map now?) and are up to level 9

It's really fun - but the performance on Switch is absolutely awful I'm not one to complain (or even notice) frame rate drops most of the time, but this gets insanely juddery, it can be hard to look at. I hope a patch is incoming soon

I had this last night.

When the Missus checked the map in camp she couldn't see Creepy Crypts and we'd thought it'd vanished.

But when I checked he map it was there and selectable.

Yeah creepy crypts was the one, we thought maybe it was unlocked from finding it in the first level and you'd have to redo that each time or something. I guess I'll just see if it reappears tonight

However, what you might not know is that the first of the two planned DLCs – Jungle Awakens – is coming in July! In this adventure, you’ll enter a distant, dangerous jungle to fight a mysterious power in three new missions. To defeat the terrors hidden among the vines, you’ll have new weapons, armor, and artifacts at your disposal.

Fixed an infinite loading screen when accepting a game invite while the title was suspended during online gameplay

Improved data collection to help identify game crashes
The game now has the correct naming across all languages

We thought it ran better today on Switch, but it could just be the later levels perform better anyway for whatever reason(s)

Unfortunately we were halfway through a level when my girlfriend used a soul collector (or whatever it is called) and the physics went crazy, sending her flying behind a fence that she couldn't get out from. I tried running to the edge of the screen to try and drag her out... and instead I got respawned in next to her. So we had to quit and start the level over. It was funny at least

Did not know this was a thing! Will definitely bear this in mind. When playing on multiple consoles are you still locked to the same screen or can you wander off and do what you want? I imagine using the menu/inventory is better at least, for some reason they don't split it on the single screen so you have to take it in turns opening the inventory and taking up the entire screen as you do so.

You can wander off and do what you want of course. If you away from others it pops up on screen but you can use it any time.

Take it in turn to mess with inventory, oof!

I honestly have a wolf as one of my artifacts just because it's really useful as a warning system that we're being attacked when we go into an inventory screen

If we're talking complaints - would it really have been too much to have a mini-map in the corner of the screen? Having to toggle a huge map in the centre of the screen is pretty annoying just to check you haven't missed anything.

Also, I want to be able to swap my drops with the missus and vice versa.
And more things to do/interact/trade with at the camp! I want someone who we can pay emeralds to to take Enchantments off a weapon without destroying it! I'd pay 600 Emeralds per enchantment "diamond" for that pleasure!
