"Finished" it yesterday but back on to the adventure mode today which is certainly a step up in difficulty. I usually have the map on screen at all times so would like the option of making it more transparent but a adjustible mini-map would be better. Would also like the option to take the enchantments off a weapon without destroying it so I can play around with my load out more.

Tip for the final boss - You can roll off the level where you enter and get placed back before the boss fight without losing health. You can then hang around refilling your health etc and then bounch back into the fight when you're ready.

Last month, Mojang Studios released Minecraft Dungeons. Have you played it yet? I have and quite enjoyed it, even though it’s obvious that the team didn’t use any of the notes that I have been continuously submitting. I might believe that they didn’t get my emails and phone calls, but how could they miss the carrier pigeons I sent to their home addresses? I’m not saying that they had to change everything to center around yours truly, but a few references wouldn’t have hurt.

One thing they did add was more shrubbery, vines, and humidity. Foliage as far as the eye can see. Oh, and a bunch of new weapons, armors, artifacts, and mobs. And three new story missions! Aaaand a free update, which includes the Lost Temple dungeon, some new items, and a few game balancing changes. Phew! I’m out of breath and I haven’t even gotten to the pandas yet.

That’s right, the first Dungeons DLC is on its way! Jungle Awakens will be released on July 1, so get ready to battle new mobs such as the Leapleaf and Whisperer before ultimately saving the day by defeating the Jungle Abomination. For those of you who already bought the Hero Edition, all of this is included! Don't worry, you can always upgrade your standard game with the Hero Pass.

NEW DUNGEONS DLC AND MORE ON SEPTEMBER 8

New DLC, features, and more!

This morning when I woke up and shook my trusted Magic 8-ball, the same answer kept floating to the surface: September 8. I thought that was pretty strange, but then checked the calendar and was utterly blown away by the wisdom of what some would call “a cheap toy that you can’t consult to make all of your major life decisions.” It turns out that September 8 will be an incredible day for fans of Minecraft Dungeons with not one or two, but THREE big events all landing on the same day. Because I’m the kind of person who eats dessert first, I figured I’d start with the biggest news, but these announcements are the text equivalent of a three-scoop sundae for dinner.

The Creeping Winter DLC brings a wintry storm that threatens to consume all it touches. The only chance of halting the biting frost is for a hero to take on new missions and relentless new enemies! Since no good deed goes unrewarded, let’s say it’s finders keepers on all the new armor, weapons, and artifacts you’ll run into along the way. Just watch out for chilling new mobs and slippery ice on your way to save the day!

We’re also rolling out a free game update on September 8 that will include some fresh features: new merchants and Daily Trials. Save captured Merchants you encounter as you play the game and they’ll be so grateful that they’ll set up shop in your camp! The Blacksmith will upgrade items for you, and the Gift Wrapper will allow you to trade items with other players in multiplayer. The Merchants can also be levelled up for additional stock. The Daily Trials will provide fun new challenges every day! Daily Trials make wild changes to the game mechanics which provide difficult, experimental, or fun challenges for you to overcome.

The third of our big September 8 announcements is that Minecraft Dungeons is available in physical format! You can finally hold the Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox versions of the game in your hand. The physical retail version of the game is the Hero Edition of the game, which includes the Jungle Awakens DLC, Creeping Winter DLC, base game, and unique cosmetics (like a cape). These cool-looking boxes will be landing in all regions on September 8, but our PS4 players in Japan will need to be extra patient as that edition of the game will release a month later due to production delays.

Wow, are you as exhausted as I am after all of those big announcements? I’m just going to lay down and take a nap to conserve my energy until the big day.

Notice the game is only £20 in Tesco the other day, pretty tempting tbh. Is the game any good?

The Howling Peaks DLC is an action-packed trek to the mountain top that features dazzling new armour, weapons, and artifacts. Of course, new enemies such as the Squall Golem and Mountaineer await along the way as well – no one said it would be easy! Atop it all is the source of the stormy conflict, the Tempest Golem that has been corrupted by a shard from the Orb of Dominance. There are many new features and foes that we’ll be highlighting up until the release, so keep an eye on our dedicated Minecraft Dungeons Twitter handle for behind the scenes looks.

I was looking for a good dungeon crawler for Switch, something Diablo-y, this always looked cool to me and it seems they patched a lot of the issues from launch.

Is it a good game worth picking up? I’m not looking for something overly stat heavy but I fancied a game where you get loot and raid dungeons etc...

Minecraft Dungeons' Flames of the Nether DLC out at the end of February

Alongside "most ambitious free update" yet.

Minecraft Dungeons, developer Mojang's enjoyable co-operative dungeon-crawler spin-off, will receive its fourth paid DLC - titled Flames of the Nether - later this month on 24th February.

Specifics are still a little thin on the ground, but Mojang says Flames of the Nether, which leads players on a journey to the heart of Minecraft's infamous otherworld, will feature six new missions across "familiar biomes as you've never seen before". Additionally, there're new artifacts, weapons, and gear to acquire, plus two new skins and an "adorable" Baby Ghast.

Flames of the Nether - which follows on from previous DLC offerings Jungle Awakens, Creeping Winter, and Howling Peaks - is the second paid content update to be released as part of Minecraft Dungeons' £17 Season Pass, but will also be available to purchase separately on launch day. It'll likely cost around £5 if previous DLC pricing is any indication.

Flames of the Nether will arrive alongside a free content update that Mojang, writing in its latest blog post, calls "the most ambitious free update in Minecraft Dungeons history".

It introduces procedurally generated end-game missions known as Ancient Hunts that weave through the Nether. By defeating Ancient mobs and making it out alive, players can earn top-tier Gilded gear, alongside a new Gold currency to spend with the camp's new Piglin merchant.

Minecraft Dungeons' free update and the Flames of the Nether will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC on 24th February.

I picked this up on Switch before Christmas; I've only played a wee bit of it so far but the chunky styling of the graphics works well and, even as someone not too knowledgeable about Minecraft, I was enjoying the action.

This massive expansion is easily the most significant release for Minecraft Dungeons yet and will add a vast amount of content for players of Mojang Studios' franchise-expanding title. Like with previous expansions, Flames of the Nether comes with two portions: a paid, premium DLC that adds a new realm to Minecraft Dungeons' map; and a free companion update that will add content available to all players.

The paid portion of Flames of the Nether for Minecraft Dungeons includes:

Six new levels. Flames of the Nether is adding six all-new levels for players to explore, each modeled after a biome from the Nether Update
New mobs and bosses. In every level, players will be able to run into hordes of mobs, new and old. Find several variants of piglins, hoglins, blaze, wither skeletons, ghast, and a mysterious new mega-boss
New gear and uniques. Like with every expansion before it, Flames of the Nether adds new equipment for players to discover and use. Find chainsaw-like blades, massive bone clubs, piglin-themed armor, and more
New cosmetic items. A smaller perk of the full Flames of the Nether experience is two new character skins for players, as well as a Baby Ghast cosmetic pet
And more. Every Minecraft Dungeons area has unique secrets, sub-areas, and quirks that players can only discover by playing the levels themselves. With how insanely huge Flames of the Nether is, it'll inevitably hold much more

The free portion of Flames of the Nether for Minecraft Dungeons includes:

Apocalypse Plus changes. Minecraft Dungeons' highest difficulty level is seeing massive changes with Flames of the Nether. The current 20 levels are being condensed down to 10, 15 further levels are being added, the game's maximum power level is being increased to around 250, and Apocalypse Plus is being balanced to be fairer to all players
Ancient Hunts. The missing link for Minecraft Dungeons' endgame is finally here. Players can spend items and enchantment points to create procedurally-generated levels with near-endless replayability, new challenges and powerful Ancient mobs, and a chance at finding the most powerful gear in the game: Gilded gear
Piglin Merchant. The latest vendor to be added to your Camp in Minecraft Dungeons is the Piglin Merchant. This vendor sells all kinds of goods and equipment, including chances to find rare Gilded gear, but it only deals in gold
Gold. A second currency is joining emeralds with gold, which can be found by completing Flames of the Nether missions or Ancient Hunts. Take your gold to the Piglin Merchant to buy an assortment of excellent items
New enchantments. More weapon and armor enchantments are joining the growing pool in Minecraft Dungeons, and there's a lot to look forward to here. Pet-lovers rejoice, as companion-specific enchantments are here in Flames of the Nether, as well as new damage-type enchantments
And more. The Flames of the Nether's free update also includes other balancing changes for gear and enchantments, and some free cosmetic items for players like a new cape and pet

Xbox Series X|S Enhanced

Minecraft Dungeons is now optimized for Xbox Series X|S consoles!

Xbox Series X supports up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS
Xbox Series S supports up to 1440p resolution and 60 FPS

These resolutions and frame rates are variable, and will lower while playing four player local co-op

I really like this, only played about 90 mins so far but it’s the right level of Loot based action RPG I was looking for.

I take it the best thing to do would be t blast through the story stuff, post game is where the best content would be?

Does anyone here still play this? I’m really liking it so far, only power level 9 at the moment but I tried a daily challenge and got all the way to the boss before getting destroyed
