Not sure if anyone can help...

I'm trying to set a private server up for Minecraft bedrock edition. I have the server running okay (can connect locally via an Xbox on the same network) and likely need to open some ports on my firewall for the outside world, but there doesn't even seem to be a way to join custom servers via the Xbox game? LAN servers appear under the friends tab and the servers tab has 5-6 "featured" servers and that's it?! From what I can see it looks like you are stuck having to pay a monthly subscription on Xbox if you want a private server where friends can play in a world (without being limited to the chosen host being online playing the game when others want to play). Seems a bit backwards.

There isn’t an option for private servers on Xbox.

You can fudge it though, you can use https://github.com/jhead/phantom to set a proxy up that will make your private server appear as a LAN server and so work. There are also android apps that will do this too, you fire the app up, add your server address and start the proxy then when you open minecraft on the Xbox it shows as a LAN server,

Damn so it really is as dumb as it appears. Thanks for the proxy tips, I think the Android one might prove fruitful so I’ll try that

Yeah it’s very daft. I have a raspberry pi running phantom all the time now so Xbox works seamlessly now. Just bloody stupid you have to do it!

Did a tour vid of the city I have on my server, its years and years of work and the video doesn't include the theme park (because it isn't finished) or the canals as the locks are broken for some reason.....

Minecraft Star Wars. This is a platform and I’d argue Microsoft’s most powerful IP.

Mojang have been posting concepts of various genres in a minecraft style -

Image

Sure, these concepts are probably just that: concepts, but they're fun enough to spark the imagination. One thing I know for sure: There is more Minecraft coming. I know from trusted sources that Mojang has at least two all-new projects that aren't Minecraft or Minecraft Dungeons, although I have no idea exactly what those games might look like. Perhaps we'll discover that all of those pixel-style art posts were in fact teases for full-blown projects ... or maybe not. One can hope, though.

Mojang previously hinted at 2 new projects in their logo reveal video -

Is there a GRCade server? Only picked up Minecraft a year ago. It's decent.

I don't think so, there used to be way back but it stopped being used, there was also a realm at one point but same sort of thing happened.

Ifs a shame really the old days of the GR server were epic, but now it's a game I tend to come and go with playing for a few weeks then drifting again, I have the same save ive been working on for it has to be 6 or 7 years at this point with a massive city in it which gradually is getting bigger.

I've got a Minecraft server for the Java version that can have up to 80 players and is basically sitting doing not much. I'd be happy to set it up as a GR server if people want and have some suggestions for any particular setup or just vanilla.

I'm happy to setup and fund a server if people want one for the Windows 10, non Java whatever it is called version.

I have a chuffing great world I can put into it as a starting point and can go hybrid with it so people can be creative or survival which ever they prefer.

Nope sadly not, they were always on the pcs server and I didn't have access to them.
