From the moment you outed me, i got in touch with the other vamps and said we had one thing to do and one thing alone; Kill Buck. ;)

You were a slippery character too.

I think you might hold your record for longest surviving outed bad guy for a long time vermi

That's not a growth wrote:I still see no reason to reveal more about my role then I did, it would only make me more vulnerable - I only had 1 bullet and if people knew that they would know I was helpless after my first shot. Keeping it vague meant it wasn't guaranteed it was bullets / how many uses I had.

With so many already claimed roles/confirmed innocents/generally trusted people, you were more at risk of being lynched for not being one (as happened) than being targeted by the vamps for revealing more about your role imo.

We obviously had no idea why you weren't keeping up with the thread, but if you had been I think you'd certainly have understood it was more than just Qikz pressing you to prove yourself.

After how kills were already wasted on Skinner I think the vamps would have been reluctant to target you for fear of wasting a kill, especially as they had other targets that were threats and considering they were going after more active players.

You could have lied about how many shots you had - Skinner already protected himself twice, so I think it would have been a relatively easy sell. Or if you'd been upfront and explained things and taken the shot, that has two effects depending on whether the vamps believe you or not, both making you less of a target:

- They believe you, in which case you are out of bullets so less of threat so less likely to be killed
- They don't believe you, in which case you are able to defend yourself and waste a kill attempt so less likely to be targeted

All things considered I think it was pretty clear you were high on the list for lynching so being more forward about your role would have been worth it. Especially on the day before when we were saying we would lynch you if you didn't prove yourself, and your final day when you were pretty uncontested as the lynchee - why not be completely open at that point!

I think it ended up being essentially 'whoever gets control of the pentagram wins'. In our PM group I said something to the effect of 'the Vamps are going to be raging about this thing' and then a minute later it was destroyed — we all assumed Mori had godkilled it, realising it was far too powerful.

The weird thing is the vampires didn't even try. I guess the timing of everything meant Zadok was pretty cemented in as a confirmed person due to the way everything went so it would've been difficult, but I don't really remember any of them doing too much to try and sway anything in the thread.

Several of us couldn't post during the day due to other commitments. Randolph did try buy Zadock had it down up from early on. We could have shouted and screamed about it but there was no case for anyone other than Zadock being mayor. Also at a couple of points in that day the Humans were suggesting 5 human names as you continued to focus on low posters.

I'm surprised so many people were so confidently wedded to the idea of going after low posters given it was getting you absolutely nowhere.

I was reminded earlier of the games I ran ages ago which had the stipulation of 'if you die you can't play the next game' which I think is worth revisiting. It's all well and good criticising people who stay quite inactive when you have an interesting role but I think the shouting of role claims may have become a bit over powered as people don't treat their death as them losing if their side wins.

You say it wasn't getting us anywhere, but there were 2 vampires in that group. Going for low posters imo is definitely the best option than trying to randomly kill people who are actually posting in the thread.

Also role claiming is one of the only way villagers have to win. The whole idea is it's the informed minority against the uninformed majority, but you can bridge that gap by sharing information in the thread.

I don't think anyone really role claimed at an illogical time to be honest, the majority I can remember felt like sensible moves because of the circumstances of the game.

The idea that you can't play the next game if you die is interesting but how would that actually work? Most of these games run to the late stages, you wouldn't have enough players to run another game with that rule in play surely?

Role claiming is one of the things GRcade games don't have enough of tbh!

It was only OP as a strategy in the last game and probably in this one because the ratio of roles to vanilla was too high, but even then people have been reluctant to role claim.

By the time the Pentagram came up the Humans had been on the inactives coolaid for 3 days. Before the PM's came forward Zadocks leading candidates (the platform he was elected on) on that day were Eva Murray, Lucy West and Jane Gibson, it really wasn't getting you anywhere and the Vampires had to do very little to dodge suspicion.

I think the real thing that I noticed this game in terms of the meta was that Clarkman/Hoot has been the only person all game to publicly search through and scruitinise another player's post history and they died Night 1 for their trouble! Maybe it's just been unlucky in the last couple of games but i've always enjoyed that as the meat of werewolf/mafia type games played out longform like this with the seer only there to give the village a foot in the door with maybe the first wolf so they have a starting point but the last few games seem to have been very reliant on following the seer.

Makes me wonder how a game without seers would play out on GRcade.

I very nearly did that here. Last minute though I decided to invert the abilities of 2 of them.

I'd be interested in seeing how a no-seer game would play out. I feel like the village would need to be very pro-active in terms of naming and discussing suspicions in thread in order to force the Mafia to do the same. We often don't do a lot of that in games here so I think it would take some getting used to.

See Are You A Hitman. No PMs and effectively no seers. The town got creamed. I think people just weren't prepared to be playing with such restrictions.

And certainly not against an informed minority that were prepared to take control from the start of the game.

Yeah, that too. From what I remember, no-one really questioned it, either. You had all these humans being offed and no-one looking at the leaders.

Henry hasnt posted since he was nominated Mayor. :slol:

I think there's a good chance he doesn't know he's Mayor and therefore wont get the lynch nomination in on time. :fp:

These last few days have been slow moving, can't believe it's going to drag on for another one.

Jack may be able to pull this off if everyone is too busy to vote Christmas Eve
