Please post a tutorial for the GBA when/if you get round to it, thats one I’d be really interested in doing myself if I get around to it! Really think the originals GBA had a great form factor, lack of backlit screen and rechargeable battery let it down but gave them a couple of key areas to improve upon for the SP though.

Most impressive, i wouldn't have a clue as to what to do with something like that.

I've bought another pocket :shifty:

This will be a clear red one with black buttons I think. I'm making this one purely to sell on.

I'll also order some GBA bits while I'm at it and mod that too :datass:

This is addictive stuff

I wanted a SP, but can't find a reasonably priced damaged one to start with.

I found one for a tenner on Facebook marketplace. Apparently it doesn't turn on, but it looks in fairly good nick otherwise so hopefully it's a simple fix.

The Game Boy was 15, working but with a few missing lines down the screen. Apparently that's an easy fix too, but I'll likely swap out the screen for an IPS anyway.

Welp, the listings for the DMG and SP have disappeared and the seller isn't responding, so there goes that. :dread:

To top it off, I can't find my GBC or Advance for the life of me. I've upturned every conceivable hiding place, I even went to have a look round my mum's house, and I've seen neither hide nor hair of either of them. I'm pretty upset about it, to be honest. I've had that Color since I was five, it was the first console that was actually 'mine'.

I realise I'd basically be gutting it and binning everything besides the motherboard, so I could just buy another one, but it wouldn't be mine, y'know?

In essence the motherboard is what you paid for and that was yours so yeah I can understand that.

I've thought about modding some of my OG consoles and use that mindset to justify making it "impure".

You know what. When I smashed the screen in on my GameBoy Color (I was lucky enough to get a replacement) playing Donkey Cong Country I should have kept it! I never knew what happened to that. Presumably my dad just threw it away after he found out what Nintendo wanted to fix it, which is a great shame. It was lime green, the replacement was turquoise, just to spare you the details.

Also, the majority of sellers on FB marketplace are like that. You're lucky if you get a "sorry, sold".

They probably forgot it was sold and just deleted the listing without marking the item as sold.

They flippin' answered me yesterday, though! They said they'd get back to me today for a collection time, and by lunchtime today it'd disappeared. :|

Put a bid on another Color on eBay just now, but was pipped in the last 5 seconds. Typical. :dread:

Facebook marketplaces :dread:

Like a digital moss eisley, only with minions.

Went to play my gameboy this evening, and it cut out pretty quickly. Thought it had died but it turned out to be the rechargeable battery going. As this model had no battery LED, I had no idea it was low, so when this new one arrives thst does have the power led, I'll probably swap that pcb in to this one (although that means desoldering the screen wires again) so I have my dmg style one with the led, then the red one I'm selling can go without.

While I waited for the battery to get some charge (bit annoyed it lost all charge just sitting for 2 weeks, which is pretty poor), I put my long neglected 3ds xl on. So many ambassador games! I've hardly played any of them. GBA games look great on there, to the point where I might just leave my GBA unmodded and play the 3ds instead. Also got loads of gb and gbc games on there I'd forgotten I bought, along with loads on the shop for reasonable prices, that go for silly money as the real carts.

The 3D effect for the gameboy and gameboy colour games is really convincing, you know how to activate it right?

I do, although I prefer the larger (as in the size larger) image.

Made an offer on a teal GBC and 4 games, and it was accepted. The dream is reborn from the ashes. :datass:

Wish I still had my GBC. I don't know what happened to it in all honesty, I don't recall selling it so it's either still at my parents house of they've chucked it out some time over the last 20 years :(

I mean I don't actually need one - I've still got a perfectly working GBA SP which plays everything I want. But it would be nice to have!

I should have modded it over getting a pocket really, but I never had a pocket so wanted that more. Now I have it, I'd just mod the GBA instead and skip the colour, so ill probably never use it again.
