Monitor Recommendations

I'm on the lookout for a 144hz Monitor, preferrably 24inch but could go bigger and I can't really break the budget. I'd prefer it to have decent colour (my current one has terrible colour) and I don't fully understand the difference between TN and IPS, but I've heard IPS is better overall?

If some kind soul could help I'd be very happy. Thanks in advance.

This is the monitor I'd get for gaming if I could afford it right now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01KZIOSSQ?tag=22 (It was recommended in the PCGT a while back.)

It's a TN panel. TN has lower input lag, so it's better for fast-paced games, but has worse colour accuracy. IPS, conversely, has better colour accuracy but worse lag.

I'm assuming Dell don't actually make the panels themselves and its either an LG or Samsung one.

It uses an Acer (AU Optronics) panel according to some hardware review site.

27inch version of that monitor https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/dell-27 ... 1026065772
If it helps anyone tempted myself.

Edit: no G-Sync though although this will probably become a non issue with Nvidia opening up to Freesync.

Looks like I might go with this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-27-inch-M ... nitor&th=1

But I can buy through work.

I have the 27" version of that monitor, it's pricey but really nice. The gsync one, I don't know why the model changes completely when you select 27 on there.

What's the budget?

In terms of what you see when looking at a TN panel vs a IPS panel the TN one will look a little more washed out and dull.

As many others have already said the TN panel will have better response times but I guess it depends on what you're playing to know if that'll be a problem.

300ish.

I play a lot of fast reaction based games so 144hz is pretty much a must which I realise IPS doesn't really handle at all well at the minute.

Sorry for bumping this but I never actually bought a monitor before, are there any newer recommendations or are the ones already mentioned still the best?

I'm still saving for a new PC, but having a second monitor would help me in the meantime.

I recently bought a 27" QHD monitor. I really love the extra screen resolution.
