That’s a rampage though

Rampages suck. No one likes them. Always MP them for speed

Rampages are fine but I wouldn't choose to do one. The only motivation I have is to a) fight Ibushi, or b) I guess I need to do a couple to unlock the proper apex hunts that got added. I think I have done like 5 rampages total

I think I've got to the point of the game where I'm not finding it fun anymore.

It feels like a racing game now. It's not about fighting really, it's about how consistent you are, you just have to be patient and dodge the super predictable attacks you've seen 100 times while they slowly die over the span of 10-15 minutes.

I find it kind of hard to be patient when fighting the same monsters over and over, because you know exactly what's coming.

Plus for all the grinding you do, it doesn't really make you feel more noticeably powerful, at most it will cut a couple of minutes off your time.

If you've only been using a couple of weapons then trying out different types helps to add a bit of variety, eg. fighting the same monster with a great sword and dual blades will feel very very different, or if you've only used melee weapons then bowguns/bows are a very different playstyle. The MH endgame definitely isn't for everyone though, if it stops being fun then there's not much motivation for grinding everything out.

This can be applied to most games but each to their own. Trying out diff weps might help. MH is about constantly improving and learning that dance between you and the monster. You can be patient but that takes away a lot of the fun and thrill. But it sounds like you've reached that cap so if it really is drying up I'd say maybe take a break and come back after the game has gone through some updates and dlc.

Go for some full on gimmick builds to mix things up.

Trouble is the different builds really don't mix things up at all, they give you boring little stat buffs.

And I've played lots of all the weapons I enjoy in world already. They all have pretty similar movesets to that game (other than the silk bind moves obviously)

It's a good game I just think the endgame grind is a bit hollow and they really don't do enough to stifle the monotony of killing the same monster over and over.

I thought the modifiers in Borderlands 3 were a great solution to that kind of thing.

If you dont really have a goal, then I can totally see why it feels stale. No point in really forcing yourself to find enjoyment out of it. Rise endgame is a bit weird compared to past entries too. I still think it's worth just taking a break and coming back for whenever the big updates hit.

I use bowguns so just building for different ammo types brings quite a lot of variety and I can vary skills around those, but there are builds in general that are more than just little stat buffs. Min maxing for stun damage with slugger and whatever else so you can basically stun lock monsters, or combining wide range and mushroomancer to become a full on healer/support in multiplayer - not necessarily the most efficient but I've done that before and it has been fun. My friend has some evade extender stacked on dual blades with one of the silkbind moves I think specifically and his dodge covers a huge amount of distance which is pretty amusing to watch happen.

Been watching speedruns with Switch Axe and now I'm really interested in trying out this wep again. Haven't messed around with it since 3U tho. Was planning on jumping to dual blades after but now I'm feeling overwhelmed with wanted to play SA too lol.

Haven't played this so much recently, but yes, it's definitely the kind of game where you need to set goals for yourself to find it enjoyable post-game. I've been collecting armor sets to max out elemental resistances so I'm prepared for anything, and also built more of a support set for when I play with friends. I've mostly done that now which is why I haven't played for a while. One thing that really put me off is the melding. To max out the sets I want to make I'm just relying on RNG to give me the melds I want, and after about 30 melds I just get random stuff every time. RNG is such a video game mistake.

What's funny is that despite playing the series forever this is the first monhun where I am probably actually going to complete every quest available and actually be in that "post-game" zone of finding things to do if I want to play more. Maybe the real answer is just go play Generations with its six pages of quests per rank until the Rise G rank expansion drops

RNG melding is a bit rubbish, at least decoration crafting is how it should be.

Rise is paced so well that it encourages you to take on every quest. Past games you get thrown so much at you at times. I like having a couple pages of quest per rank (excluding 7star but that's mostly endgame lol). Melding doesn't seem to be on my side so far but I'm mostly waiting to farm more mats before I seriously invest. Also I feel like deco crafting in this is much more strict compared to past games.

Beat the apex rathian rampage but no quest unlock, what are the requirements?

I think I unlocked mine after doing one of the Elder Fugen Challenges? Speaking of the Apex do we get to unlock Rathalos and Diablos as standalone quest too? I haven't done them in Ramage yet.

Only Rathian, Azuros and Mitzu have apex quests I think so far.

It might have to be you Rathian rampage? That's what did it for me (it was my first so didn't think anything of it)

Ok, I get this is probably not a game that 'ends' per se, and so they had to pick somewhere to put the credits, but strawberry float me if that wasn't a piss-dribble of anti-climax to have as a 'Final' mission.

The end of the village quests is basically end of tutorial

Now go to the hub and the story continues
