Time for a new season!Okay, massive curveball from last year. We'll be using a different game from last year because 1) I've forgotten how to make all the mod amends in MM for another one of these and 2) I found a game that doesn't need me to frig it so I'm not playing. So I'll be using a game called Ultimate Racing 2D 2 for this.
Other advantages include:
-In-game stat changes
-Shorter Races
-All the F1 tracks
Build your Team!I need 10 people to sign up as Team Managers and create their own racing marque. I will need you to post or PM me the following:
Team Name:Team Livery Colours: (up to 4 colours, or amend the PNG below)
Driver 1:Driver 2:Home GP: (Pick a race track from the current F1 grid, and I'll add it to the roster. Not sure what is available? I've added a list further below)
Allocate your Development points. You have 7 of these to allocate between:
Speed:Acceleration:Grip:Turbo:Driver Skill: (costs 2 points for 1 development point on each driver)
You can be an owner/driver, and you can put anyone in the second seat (unless they have another race seat already), but make sure no one misses out.
Here is an example of a full set of teams and liveries:
And here is the car png you can decorate if you really want to customise your team:

Drive to Victory! So you want to be a bit more passive but still get involved in all the glory? Well then, you can just nominate yourself to be one of 10-20 drivers who can be hired into someone else's team, and I'll ask Team Managers to ensure everyone in the Driver pool gets a seat (unless we are massively over-subscribed). Job done. If you're in high demand, pick your preferred team to race for. You just need to hope that the driver version of you takes you to the Driver's Championship and your team to the Constructor's Championship.

Decide the rules! The way this is going to work is that we will have a season made up of 10 races which I'll do in a series of short videos. The races will be 10 laps long, which allows for some pit and weather shenanigans to occur. But one major questions is how are the points going to be allocated. We can use the F1 style points allocation of the top 10 finishers getting points between 25 and 1pt, or we can use the ingame points allocation of the top 19 finishers getting points between 30 and 1 pt allocated. Post your preference. Fastest Lap also gets 1 point. Cars regenerate energy throughout the lap which they can use to deploy ERS (Turbo) for a speed boost of 1.1x.
Show us a demo!Okay, fair request. I've pulled together a quick example video. Excuse the audio, I'm just using a headset mic rather than my good recording mic which I would use for the race commentary.
Right, sign ups are open and we'll see if there is any interest in this.

Back in the day, I used to love nothing more than loading up the database in Championship Manager, taking a Conference team and editing all their players to be my schoolmates and giving them beefed up stats before making my way to glory in the Premier League. So imagine my delight when I discovered this week that you can do the same in Motorsport Manager. Except I don't really need an edge to do well in MM, and it's more fun to edit a whole grid instead of just two drivers. So I did the only conceivable thing and I've created a GRcade-based racing league.
Given a number of you are probably going to be missing the F1 during the summer break, and / or waiting impatiently for the F1 Manager game to come out at the end of August, I thought you might be interested in what happens in my GRcade edited MM world.
No need to opt in to this game. I've taken 90+ GRcade members, mainly those in the racing thread, F1 thread, those who opted into Preezy's XCOM2 game, and whoever was online at the time I was pulling the list together, and put them in every single seater race seat in the game, as well as the top tier reserve drivers, and the remaining top level drivers who are either uncontracted or in other series.
I've altered the cars to make them a little more even, and reduced the season to 7 races in the main league for my own sanity (I won't make it through 12+ before my house move happens). I'll record the top league races, and post what happens in the lower two championships as we go.
I'll get the first race loaded up tonight, and probably do race two on Monday evening and continue until the season is over or when the thread dies. Feedback and the like appreciated.
So how do things line up for the first race of the season? Qualifying results are below!
