I’d like a word with my strategist. Left me exposed on the start line.

I've been utilising your tyre preservation capability when forming your strategy. Would you like to go for a more attacking strat, even though that means taking the extra stop?

I was let down by strategy.

I would have pushed to get to the end on one stop and took the risk that it blew up in my face.
Which is probably would have. So I'm happy enough.

As it is 3rd in the race and leading the Championship will do. Really need a solid, clear win though.

How are us plebs in tier 3 getting on? Is there promotion and relegation?

Losing 8 places off the line is hopefully a freak occurrence. Being on the mediums may have helped with that, but who knows if I could have made them last. It was the strategy that saved my race somewhat after the start.

Had a shocker of a race sadly, the car looked quick yet i couldn't seem to make a pass stick and it meant i kept losing momentum (and places), especially when stuck in the pack early on.

Round 3 - Asia-Pacific Supercup (League 2)

Image

A 1-2 for the MacNeils' puts them in serious contention for promotion (top and bottom teams go up and down), although Garth is keeping a gap in the Driver's Championship

Other News:
Red Dog has been telling the media that Roon Mastor has to "sort out that GP2 engine" as it is holding him back. Roon has reportedly gone to the chairman asking for extraordinary funds to pay for a couple of engines upgrades, and this has left his position in the team very precarious given he is only two races into his tenure.

Captain Red Dog was then fined for speeding on the motorway. Kinopio has also been on the hustle, selling a new racing inspired cook book. Unfortunately, all that menu sampling has replaced his time in the gym.

Round 3 - European Super Cup (League 3)

Image

Earlier today Rubix announced his intention to retire from the sport. He was still able to demonstrate his raw pace with a 2nd place finish.

Faceman was able to win the race and score more points than his first two races combined.

The top four in the Driver's are separated by a single point, leaving this league wide open.

Aayl1 got fastest lap and the additional three points, which are mighty in this league that gives points to every position.

Herdanos doesn't have to worry about relegation from league 3, which is fortunate.

Other News:

Steinnman duo Robbo92 and Mildew are tipped to go well next time out with their strong rear wing being suited to the high speed corners of the next track.

[I'm away this eve so next updates are tomorrow, starting with Round 4 for League 2, and then into the main event Round 3 race coverage. For those of you who want to see the race on Twitch, let me know your preferred times for the race to go live, most likely to be around 8pm (+/- 1hr)]

Round 4 - Asia-Pacific Supercup (League 2)

A dominant display from KKlein means that the Boa Esperanca have now eeked ahead of the MacNeil team in the Constructors.

Despite finishing 14th, Garth remains at the top of the Driver's standings, with Balladeer closing the gap down to just a single point with his podium finish in Phoenix.

Ozu Motor Team need a result if they are going to avoid relegation, the only team to not score a point this season. TheWatchingArtist and Xeno need to find some form, having finished only 16th and 17th in this race.

GRcade Cup - Round 3 - Qualifying

Qualifying was started under rain and dried up as the session ran, meaning that the later you ran the drier the track was and the faster the times.

Kinopio hinting on social media that if something doesn’t change at Chariot, he will seek to enter negations over the term of his contract.

Kanbei sniped the victory on the final straight, leading Mildew by 0.1s, as he made a late switch to inter tyres and took advantage of the drying track.

The Scuderia Rossini struggled with the changeable conditions, with OftheStar running wide in the rain and damaging his front wing. Equally, Devlin looked to go very deep into turn 1 as he was chasing down the leader Mildew, and cut the corner with a rare error and was referred to the stewards for the incident.

Roon Mastor's Driver of the Day
There were some great and notable drives throughout the grid, but Memento Mori's whole weekend stands out. He qualified an impressive 9th and many would have expected him to go backwards from there. However he gained two places and finished 7th in one of the series' weakest cars. Notable mentions for Kanbei, Falsey and LewisD.

Roon Mastor's Spoon of Shame
Panther Racing team lost a total of 19 places from the start of the race. Compared to the Rossini' antics, they had a clean race and still lost too many positions. They need to think hard about how they approach the final four races.

I'm sorry for vandalising your stream. :slol:

I just cannot seem to convert that pole into a win. :x
Not sure what else I could have done strategy wise other than go a lap earlier for the tyre changes and hope that gave me enough to get back up to the front.

Amazing finish though. Was glad you caught that.

PostRe: Motorsport Manager GR Cup - Silly Season
by Roonmastor » Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:38 pm

Silly Season begins!

Mid-season seat moves are now live (subject to the edits not breaking the game). If you want to drive for a different team then now is your chance!

Silly Season Rules:

- You can only move to an available seat. This is defined as any "at risk" seat, "vacant" seat or "abandoned" seat.
- Any driver in any league can move to any available seat, even if you are not currently "in the game"
- First person to request the move in the thread gets the seat.
- If you are currently in an At Risk seat which someone opts for, then you will become a free agent unless you opt into another available race seat.
- If a person moves, their original seat becomes vacated and can be picked up.
- You can pull a Piastri and abandon your race seat by declaring this in the thread, hoping to open up another race seat with further moves that you can then request to move to.
- The opportunity to move seats will end at 9pm on 11th August.
- Silly season does not prevent any in-game seat changes from taking place as normal.

Seats at Risk:

Jam Master-Jay - Thornton Motorsport
Captain Red Dog - Chariot Racing
Grin WithoutaKat - Rezzato Corsa
Lotus - Velan Racing
Rawrgna - Van Dort Racing

I thought I'd set a 10 sec timer for chats, but it seems like I forgot to hit a toggle to put it on. That is now fixed.
