SCEE has confirmed to D+PAD this afternoon that MotorStorm Pacific Rift will be going on sale in the UK on November 7th.

Evolution Studios’ “brutal off-road racer” is the first sequel to the PS3 launch title, with the desert setting of the original replaced by a lush (and thankfully, varied) tropical island.

So there you have it MotorStorm fans, you’ll be back on the track in three weeks time.

Nice, £30 as well, I wonder if I will be able to fit this in though...

Cos it's a 4 month old build.

The guys on the 1up Yours podcast were saying it's one of the best looking games they've ever seen a couple of weeks ago.

According to the Edge review the game does have some graphical problems, it apparently seems to rely on shaders in the foreground more than the original...'there are some unpleasantly broad strokes on many of the ground textures, which blend into amorphousness mere metres ahead.'

Which isn't to say the demo is any real indication, it just might not be quite as good looking as you remember the first one being at the time.

The demo is glitchy with loads of pop in and some sub par textures, the retail game hopefully looks a lot better.

I traded the original Motorstorm in today
£4

FOUR strawberry floating POUNDS! That's some pretty hefty depreciation, I would have told them to strawberry float off but I couldn't be arsed to take it home with me.

You trust them these days after they have lost all the decent staff.

IGN UK Review - 8.8

clicky

Evolution has managed to overcome that tricky second album syndrome by creating a game that recaptures everything that made MotorStorm great and at the same time has ironed out a lot of the problems that bugged the first game. Visually it impresses just as much as the original, which is no mean feat considering two years have passed and pin-sharp high-def visuals are now commonplace. It’s fun to play too, both in single- and multiplayer, which is most important of all. If we had to aim a criticism at Pacific Rift it would be that it’s a relatively shallow experience – beyond the handful of modes there’s not much else to it, with nothing like Pure’s trick system to encourage you to push harder and faster. However, when the overall experience is so adrenalin-fuelled already, that’s a problem a very few will have an issue with.

IGN US Review - 8.3

clicky

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is a worthy follow-up to one of the PS3's early must-have titles. It fixes a lot of the outstanding issues from last time out, including offering many more tracks, and the course designs are fantastic. The vehicle mixes are sweet, and there are a ton of events to take on. It's not perfect (the Speed events can be a pain, for instance), and it isn't the breath of fresh air the first title was, but it's still an extremely solid and racing fans would do well to pick it up.

For £30 this is so tempting, but I may get it nearer to Christmas now along with Resistance 2 and get some more third party titles instead like COD and Bioshock.

Huh? So, because three people have left recently, they're just gonna make up complete lies about games? :? Just look at the shots above.....

Just played the demo and it's pretty much the same as the first game but with a different skin on the tracks. Can't say I'll be buying it as I wasn't a fan of the first game.

I found Pure much more enjoyable.

It was given away free with PS3s for ages, so that and Resistance dropped to £5 really soon after launch.

I've played some more and I'm starting to like it, the bike is the only way I can compete though as the best I've done is 2nd. The graphics are not terrible that was a bit strong, they are a very mixed bag though. The draw distance on the backgrounds is immense but vegetation pops up right on top of you and you only have to pause the game to see just how bad some of the texture work is, fair enough a lot of this is hidden by motion blur in race but it still isn't great.

The track they picked for the demo is not great either as it is very similar to one in the first game but less interesting, why didn't they include the water cooling in the demo or the lava? Hopefully this is one of the weaker tracks but if so why chose it for the demo?

I'm not convinced this is any improvement at all on the original game but I like Motorstorm enough to give it a chance and buy it on release, I just expected it to look a whole lot better than this.

Look above. We are playing the 80% Qore demo, not an 80% final build demo. The visuals on the left are better.
