What utter nonsense. My understanding of this is that Sam Jackson's playing Ultimate Nick Fury, who is black and whose appearance is based on, err, Samuel L Jackson.

Yeah. Ultimate Fury made his first appearance around 10 years ago and they got Jackson's permission to use his likeness.

For some reason was always under the impresssion that Ultimates came first in that universe not sure why.
