The Jumanji remake was way better than I expected it to be (2 wasn't as good but set up 3 nicely) and The Rock was fantastic in it. Jungle Cruise looks a bit like a mix of Jumanji and Indiana Jones. Had totally forgotten it was out so soon. Very tempted to go cinema to see it (I assume its also out on Disney+ this weekend too).

Suicide Squad 2 is out this weekend and I'm optimistic on that but often the DC movies have trailers that show promise yet turn out to be boring or just plain bad.

I don't think anyone expected the Jumanji remake to be as good as it was

It's not a remake is it? They've kinda canonised that the two new ones are pretty much direct sequels, as the main characters grandad works for Kirsten Dunst's character's aunt?

Yeah it wasn't a remake. They also found the tree house built by Alan parish when he was sucked into Jumanji.

Also how can anyone not expect Jumanji to be amazing when it features the world's best bromance in The rock and Kevin Hart.

Kevin Hart is usually like nails on a chalkboard for me, but the film was that good it didn’t really matter.

Kevin Hart was definitely the weak link in that quartet.

Looks decent but I'm concerned it's going to feel similar to the original in the same way that Force Awakens was a retread of Star Wars rather than something new. Some of the stuff in the trailer definitely made me think they're just going to rehash the second half of Ghostbusters later in the film, just to tug on the nostalgia strings.

Going blackout on it, but bloody tempting. They’d better not bollocks it up!

I read the first book earlier this year ahead of the film coming out and really enjoyed it, so would recommend you give it a read if you can. I haven't gotten around to the sequel books, although I hear that the second is a fairly direct follow-up while the later ones can get a little weird.

I've started reading Dune a couple of times and always become distracted by something else and lost interest a few chapters in.

Audiobook, my man. Listen while doing other things. You may miss bits and pieces but overall a much better time than eye reading.

It does start out quite dense and there's a lot of usage of terms that not explained immediately, but I found myself pretty interested in the story after 5 or so chapters and ended up getting through the book fairly quickly rather than finding it a slog.

Gah I caved in and watched the Ghostbusters trailer…so it’s bairns somehow saving the world now, aye? Driving an’all. Dunno how I felt about that. Get Paul Rudd tooled up with the wisecracks, he’d be great.
