Horribly generic title, but the film looks like a solid historical tale set amid the Hussite Wars.

I like Ben Foster so will check that out. Maybe looked a little bit budget in a couple of areas, but I doubt it has an enormous budget so it's to be expected.

Looks good but that was expected.

Not expecting it to have a story that blows everyone away. Still, you can never rule out James Cameron at the box office, this will probably be a huge hit.

Yeah I'll go see this.

While I don't think Avatar is as great as his older stuff, it's still a damn good movie.

James Cameron knows how to craft a blockbuster.

Rewatched Avatar recently and its better than I remembered, I still dont think its good and its message is about as subtle as a nuclear bomb, but I can see why they want to franchise it, its got shooty things, animal things, magicy things, the oppertunities to exploit all that are endless.

It's also been long enough since 3D was last a fad that they can push 3D again

when 3d first became a thing I knew it was a gimmick which wouldn't last and I still think the same. I remember where I worked at the time in Comet and Panasonic had a 50" inch tv to promote it with various film clips and sports showing of the picture quality etc and it had a clip of watching football in 3d which made me laugh I mean why would pay £600 for a TV another £75 for 3d glasses to watch football in 3d when you can go to a game for £20-30.

Movies in 3D again don't see the point

live 3d football tennis etc what is the strawberry floating point :slol:

While I do agree with all your examples, I think something like Avatar, a film specifically designed around 3D is a different experience in the cinema because of it.

Iirc, Sky had a separate commentary team for their 3D games. Can only imagine it was two guys yelling "woaahhhhhh" at replays if the ball was near the camera.

Yeah, most 3D stuff seemed like it was there as an excuse to call it a 3D experience (such as Nagini jumping toward the camera at the beginning of Deathly Hallows Part 1), but certain experiences that were crafted for 3D viewing made it worthwhile seeing them in 3D. Such as that Simpsons ride at Universal Studios Florida.

The 3D for Avatar was so impressive and immersive that I got post-Pandora depression and lost my already-tenuous grip on reality althogether :(

It's almost like you don't enjoy the feeling of living in the future, now :x .

Bloody Luddite with your crappy none-3D tv :capnscotty: .
