Who seriously wanted a live action Lion King?

The people around the world who will pay $1bn+ to see it in 2019

Wtf...live action?! Isn't this gonna be like The Jungle Book remake, only without any human actors?

Or am I seeing Beyoncé dressed up like a Lioness at the West End?

It's going to be like the Jungle Book but without the human actors.

At D23 they showed a shot-for-shot recreation of the Circle of Life scene from the start of the film and apparently it looks stunning.

Obviously John Oliver will be doing the soundtrack.
Everyone knows stuff just sounds better with a British accent.

We don't have a DC thread right?

I think we do but no one cares.

I know these are a collection of out of context clips in no real order and that judging the quality of the finished film by them would be rash at best and disrespectful at worst, but still.

Utter, utter dogshit

Did I just hear the Burton Batman theme at the start of the second clip? If so then things just got interesting.

I'm very excited for the movie, tolerated BvsS , hated suicide squad, loved wonder woman and man of steel. Potential is huge and it's going to different from marvel movies.

I'd still put money on them spoiling the big reveal in a tv spot before the movie even opens.

The cast is pretty much perfect for what a remake could be, but I really hate the idea of the Jungle Book style remake. Please don't mess this up.

I thought the Jungle Book remake worked quite well, but it was obviously centred around a human character. I'm not sure how this will work as well without that.

I honestly can't believe how gooseberry fool this looks. This is Batman & Robin levels of gooseberry fool.

Steppenwolf alone shows why the movie is going to suck. In the comics he looks like a person in some armour. They've added a whole mess of makeup to his face just for the sake of it in the movie. No thought given to the design just spending money for the sake of spending money. Hacks.

Batman looks weird when looking up at Cyborg and the less said about 90's Power Rangers villain Steppenwolf the better. :dread:

I hope the DCEU can prove that the Wonder Woman movie wasn't just a fluke.

I'm also still not seeing a valid reason for recasting Barry Allen.

The TV shows are in a different continuity

I heard that in this continuity that look is extremely intentional. In this version, he was born to be wild.

I’ve seen rumours today that Disney are looking at buying Fox’s movie and TV business. That would bring X-Men and Fantastic 4 back to Marvel wouldn’t it?

Still, it looks like we’ll end up with a future where Disney own all entertainment. :dread:

Indeed. I was initially disappointed that it wasn’t in the same verse but having seen how the films are turning out I’m quite happy that they are separate.
