oh no

That's just...so flat and energyless. It does not feel like a multi-million pound extravaganza

(Those lines...the Genie shapeshifts into the crowd to drum up support...why are they still here upfront?)

The problem here is the same problem demonstrated in the Lion King trailer: this isn't a different interpretation of the scene, it's a simplification. They've removed the fantastical elements and any distinctive design and instead its just... a guy doing a music video.

I assume both remakes will do fairly poorly and hopefully Disney will change tack and go back to, you know, creating stuff rather than ripping off their old classics.

Trailer is soon :msgreen:

T3 – gooseberry fool (great ending though)
Salvation – gooseberry fool (the odd decent moment)
Genysis – utter utter gooseberry fool (I’ve got nothing)

I hope I am wrong but I am expecting this to be gooseberry fool. I know Cameron is involved but he’s too busy making 361 Avatar sequels to be too involved with this.

This one retcons everything after T2 and continues on from that second movie. It's directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool 1)

I guess the proof will be in the pudding trailer. The other film's trailers showed exactly what kind of film they turned out to be.

Not sure what the plot/aim of the new Terminator film is going to be but it has always struck me as a difficult franchise to continue successfully. The second film was basically the same as the first but dialled up to 11 and with a better budget, they tried to do stuff set in the post Judgement Day world and it was shite.

You can't just keep sending more terminators and protectors back in time to target the destruction of John Connor in some way. Just leave it alone and make something new!

Skynet keep sending machines back to the 1980s or later (Genysis doesn’t count) where powerful guns, molten metal and crushers exist. They need to go full “Who do you think you are” on John Connor and go back to kill his great great great great great grandfather in 1721 when the most powerful weapon was a shitty musket. A T-1000 terminator would stab all of those primitive fools and face no opposition even if ancient Arnie showed up.

That's pretty much what I was going to theorise in my post before I cut it out!

The first terminator was programmed to strike at me, in the year 1984... before John was born. It failed.

The second was sent to strike at John himself, when he was still a child. It failed.

The third terminator was sent to strike at my great, great grandparents in 1850. It strawberry floated them right up.

The Future War scenes in Genesys were alright, particularly the bit when they find the time displacement equipment. But yes other than that it was garbage.

I'm about 60% confident this will be watchable, which is about the best you can hope for these days.

60% will mean it’s 95.8% better than Genesys. Which will make it a 3/10 movie.

Second film was racist nonsense with gooseberry fool cgi, this has worse cgi and a budget of a TV movie.

Just terrible terrible cgi.
