Interstellar is his main dud but he's pretty reliable.

Interstellar is the only one of his films with genuine emotion. Normally they look amazing but lack an emotional impact. Also the robots, water plantet, Matt Damon reveal, twist ending, Michael Caine confession. It's bloody brilliant and that re docking scheme is pure cinema.

I'd rate Inception his best work and Dunkirk his worst. Inception can be seen multiple times and it's still surprising.

I don't think anyone else working today has a consistent hit rate like Nolan.

The Prestige is clearly his best film

I would rank them:

Inception
The Dark Knight
Memento
Insomnia
Batman Begins
The Prestige
Interstellar
Dunkirk
The Dark Knight Rises

I really enjoyed the prestige except where

Hugj Jackman ends up with a cloning machine, changes the film premise significantly

Interstellar is great and I wish I'd watched it in the cinema.

I haven’t seen Dunkirk and I really like Memento but I find his films generally soulless, and struggle to connect with them on any level beyond enjoying how well made they are.

Dunkirk is a work of art, but as a film, very dull.

It’s one of my favourite films and I saw it at the cinema twice, first time at a normal screening and the second at IMAX. The way the sound was used was fantastic. Most people just moaned that it was too loud but the atmosphere it created was really great. I loved how they’d used low frequency bursts in sync with the ship doing manoeuvres in space. Felt so realistic.
If you have a good surround sound setup that you’ve calibrated properly, would fully recommend watching it loud on a massive OLED TV in 4K Dolby Vision.

Interstellar was great up until the final half hour when the plot goes from being slightly plausible to total fantasy.

I don't really get the logic behind "We must get this films out in time to compete with Star Wars!". I get counter programming is a thing but still.

They probably wanted to get it out before the end of the year to be eligible for next years Oscars, or in their case, the Razzies.

The director was boasting he was still overseeing post-production three hours before the premier.
