I mean, what are people actually expecting here? It's a film about Sonic the Hedgehog, of course it's going to be disappointing.

Interestingly the "Sonic cycle" doesn't seem to have applied to the movie - everyone has called it for being gooseberry fool straight away!

It's amazing how wrong they've managed to get Sonic in comparison to Detective Pikachu. And the Sonic designers only had to do one character....

Saw this on Reddit. While not perfect, someone made a few edits which makes Movie Sonic look a hell of a lot better...

Boom's Knuckles was hilarious.

Yeah, the designs on Sonic Boom weren't all that, but the show itself was awesome imo. Genuinely funny.

That's looks terrible and it's from the director of King Arthur (the gooseberry fool one)

Just looks cheap and without any of the charm of the original. I did enjoy Jungle Book but that did it's own thing and had a talented director and cast.

Will Smith hasn't been in a good film for a very long time. Bright, Suicide Squad, that M Night film with his kid.

Wish my image sig would work

It definitely looks better but still a long way off good.

I don't get how they've managed to make it look so cheap and so far removed from the source material.

Why did they give it to Guy Ritchie? Is there some kind of directors strike currently going on?

Looks like a fan film.

Quite an expensive one.

Hmm, didn't think that looked too bad in all honesty, certainly better than I had feared from the teaser.

Biggest issue I see is that both Jasmine and Aladdin look totally lacking in charisma based on this snippet. Hard to tell if this will be the case for the complete film of course but it's not a good sign...

We need Disney to get burned by this, so they rethink this strategy of just regurgitating their back catalogue into the live-action world. No-one wants it, no-one needs it, just stop doing it.

The live action movies have made so much money that it’s wrong to say nobody wants it.

1: It's great that, as pointed out on Twitter the snow is the only white thing in that trailer
2: It's bad that a super diverse film like this still looks strawberry floating gooseberry fool.

Can't wait for Pasek and Paul to write new songs about the exact same subjects as the new songs Menken wrote for the broadway show.

I'll be disappointed if they don't bring over Proud of Your Boy. The costumes are pretty similar, so hopefully they take a bit more inspiration from broadway than the Emma Watson Beauty and the Beast did.

And if it brings a new audience to the classic cartoons then it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Will Smith as the Genie was always going to set this off on the wrong course.

Get the kite, Beavis.
