Terrible trailer but between the shite it does hint at a movie that might be half decent.

Linda Hamilton looked like she can still kick ass.

Otherwise it looked liked Genesys 2. :dread:

Generic cgi just doesn't work with the terminator. A cgi free terminator 1 stalker film would work so much better. Cgi would only work if if was the groundbreaking level seen in terminator 2.

I'll go and see it but I'm expecting it to be forgettable popcorn fun.

Wish my image sig would work

It looks like unforgettable but slightly enjoyable romp like Genysis.

Yeah i enjoyed Genysis. It’s a perfect film when you’re ill and don’t need to switch on completely to watch.

It's like they didn't spend any time watching T1 and T2 and seeing what makes them so strawberry floating good :fp:

- It's mostly just scenes packed with CGI - including the worst of all in a live-action film - a CGI camera (as in the action is "filmed" from impossible places and at impossible angles, all CGI). Dreadful and makes you instantly think "that's CGI".

- bland characters - the bad terminator just looks like some guy. Think how about intense and sinister Robert Patrick was as the T-1000, then compare him to whoever the strawberry float that guy is, just no comparison. Utterly forgettable. The blonde woman - another Marcus Wright character by the looks of it, but she's got a funky short haircut so must be a badass - cue airflip on a moving truck.

- Linda Hamilton hip-firing an automatic shotgun because it looks cool. Sarah Connor should be using that weapon properly. In T2, even after she lost her cool a bit and went full-auto on Dyson's office she still kept looking down the sight, there was no cinematic hip-firing.

- Massive cargo-plane based set-piece, just looked totally over the top and unrealistic. Again, CGI and the CGI camera just make it look rubbish.

- the enemy terminator again being less advanced than the T-1000, in that it has a skeletal structure. This was a problem in T3 as well - why would Skynet send back a less capable model, why not just send back another T-1000? It's because the writers can't think of anything more advanced and dangerous than the perfect enemy that was the T-1000.

- trailer music was awful, why not just use the Terminator theme or a variation on it?

Blurgh, I strawberry floating hate it already.

I also realise I'm being quite nit-picky, but this is Terminator we're talking about. It's a legendary IP, it's a cultural touchstone. I grew up loving T1 and T2, they're part of my childhood. They should be going for perfection, they should be trying to emulate one of the best sequels ever made, they should know this kind of stuff.

Didn't T3 have a Terminator that could do everything a T-1000 could do and also make itself gun hands?

Well that was a bit meh. Looks like a bog standard 90s summer blockbuster. Didn’t tickle my balls at all.

Where’s the terminator music at?. Like really. :| Wtf was I listening too?.

That’s not Terminator music. That’s a song, I’ll shout @ something if Junkie XL strawberry floats up the score for this film. Really don’t know why they can’t wheel out Brad Fiedel out of retirement, he won’t be doing much else.

It cannot be worse than Genesis.

The T-X had an endo-skeleton and couldn't morph like the T-1000 could. It wasn't as good at infiltration, could never have done the old black-and-white-laminate-floor switcheroo that we saw in T2. Plus its weapons were fragile and it relied on boobs too much.

Fair enough, dude. I remember very little of T3 onwards. Haven't even bothered with Genesys.

I like how in the opening sequence he ferro-morphs along the piece of rebar onto the bonnet of the truck because that definitely seems like the most efficient way that an indestructible machine could get out of a car.

The effects of the guy jumping from the truck look Matrix Reloaded/Spiderman era quality. Like a horrible old video game FMV. Dreadful.

I've not seen a Terminator film since T3, and will certainly give this a miss. Are Terminator films still popular? They keep making new and awful ones, so I guess people still see them for some reason. I'm surprised they haven't done a new TV series by now.

I noticed that. It would have been far easier and a hell of a lot quicker if he had just climbed out of the window.

Hopefully it is just a dodgy trailer and the movie is ok, but I am not holding out much hope.

To be fair to that scene, I think it was trying to show that he was able to keep his skeleton in the driving seat driving the truck, while the "rest" of him morphed onto the bonnet and then jumped. So perhaps he can make a copy of himself? I dunno, it wasn't very clear.

That makes more sense, I didn’t think of that. I guess that’s the next level up from a T-1000, this one can morph and make copies.

The movie still looked gooseberry fool from that trailer though.
