Interstellar was great up until the final half hour when the plot goes from being slightly plausible to total fantasy.

I don't really get the logic behind "We must get this films out in time to compete with Star Wars!". I get counter programming is a thing but still.

They probably wanted to get it out before the end of the year to be eligible for next years Oscars, or in their case, the Razzies.

The director was boasting he was still overseeing post-production three hours before the premier.

As much as the film and production sounds like a nightmare it’s out because it’s the perfect time. Les Miserables did fantastic at this release time. It’s a time when audiences are off work & can visit cinema that maybe don’t during other times or the year (the target audience for Cats really older adults/families).

January is a box office low point and then it picks up again towards Easter into Summer. Releasing Cats say in Feb/March just wouldn’t work.

Nobody wants to see baby Sonic, hope they don't spend much time on that section - he's gotta grow fast.

Just read that Candyman (aka Candyman 3) is being released next year. Produced by the director of Get Out and Us and it stars.....

Tony Todd.

So pleased that he had been cast as he is a horror icon thanks to that movie. He is also great in Final Destination and Hatchet.

Wish my image sig would work

Y'know, the more bad reviews i read about Cats, the more i want to see it out of sheer morbid curiosity.

Yeah but the issue is now it would be better to see the initial release not the reworked version.

He’s good in The Rock and The Crow as well. Couldn’t really not have cast him again in Candyman though.

Loved the start. Looks like they’re going for a “people are worse than monsters” Walking Dead vibe though which has been done quite a lot now.

I only just got around to watching the trailer for the new Ghostbusters.

Were people....happy with that in general? It didn't give me a very Ghostbusters vibe at all. The complete lack of even a variation on, or even cues from, the theme was a complete let down. Even the 2016 trailer got that right.

True. I have to say that Green Hill zone looks absolutely sumptuously beautiful.

True, I have zero complaints about how the CG looks in this now. Hoping it does well enough for a sequel that's just all Sonic world.

I'm really looking forward to the film Dark Waters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Waters_(2019_film)

I know the story of the scandal and it's a pretty shocking case of a company just not giving a single gooseberry fool about staff or customers.
