A few years ago I swore to never watch awards shows like the BAFTAs, Oscars and the BRITS and nothing was lost, but being in a strange and lazy mood yesterday I watched a lot of the DC FanDome and that gushing happiness was a bit OTT for me. Thankfully watched some along with a YouTuber who's commentary had a nice dose of cynicism.

I really do want to see the Snyder Cut of Justice League and I think it will be better than the cinema release. But I don't know if it will actually be decent because it I don't think Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman were great because Zak Snyder includes all these special moments but isn't always great at conveying the human story well. The Darkseid model looks utterly shite for a computer game but this is for a big budget movie!

I want Suicide Squad to be good but the original was a mess and was only tolerable thanks to Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Is there meant to be a Black Adam trailer out too? The Rock on IG seemed to be hinting it would be out around now too.

That looks strawberry floating horrendous. Like storyboard reels put to cheap animation.

Motion comic, innit. That's the point.

Anyway, in to the fkin hilt with the Batman. I've wanted a serious, serial-killer interpretation of the Riddler for years and this concept surpasses it - he's like a character from Manhunt or something in that trailer. Visually it's very reminiscent of The Crow, and I like how they aren't averse to making Batman himself look like a proper nutcase, like the villains but on the other side of good/evil - him battering the mook when he was down was great.

Snyder cut looks strawberry floating atrocious from that trailer. Suicide Squad looks ropey as well but surely it can't be as bad as the first one, right? :dread:

I actually quite liked The Batman trailer. The brutal beatdown he gave that bloke made me wince. Had the tone of a crime thriller so hopefully the film is like that and not just another super hero movie.

The Batman looks good to me. I think it's a bit of a shame that Catwoman and Penguin are going to be in this as I'd have preferred there be a single antagonist to focus on and The Riddler would have been my preferred choice. Hopefully there won't be time wasted doing their origin stories as I just don't need to see that.

And yeah, that beatdown :datass:

That looks like when a video game didn't have the budget for a proper CGI cutscene and so does the opening narration with powerpoint.

I don't think there's any film I'd risk my life to see but if there is, it definitely isn't New Mutants. It'll be on Disney+ soon enough.

Surely a new Star Trek film is worth the risk and not going to see the new Bond film should be counted as treason.

Is that F for "Fabulous idea, I wish I was going so I could experience a film in Imax as well but I can't because I'm most likely going to be at work at 11.30 when you're going"?

Or F for fail?

He's pressing F to pay respects, because you'll probably catch Coronavirus and pelt it.

Oh.

I'll make sure to haunt him real good if I do die.
I just hope I have a better sense of direction as a ghost than I do now :shifty: .

Dark Phoenix was 22% for comparison so this appears to be the lowest rated live-action X-Men film of all time.
