I've never actually seen Wild Wild West.

I'd like to keep it that way!

It's one of the greatest films of all time, especially if you define a great film as one that has had a long lasting and indelible effect on how you think.

Even now, when someone suggests consulting wiki, I chant Wiki Wiki Wild Wild West out loud.

I suppose it's a nervous tick.

Plus it was so good, they put an advert for it at the start of every internet URL.

Yeah, its a bit like Jurassic Park in that one banger of a film is fine, but the longer they drag it out because BRAND the more diluted it gets. I'm not planning on seeing this in the cinema unless it gets particularly good reviews.

Even before the trailer, I was cautiously optimistic for Matrix Resurrections, the trailer looks good, hopefully cinemas won't be forced to shut by the time it's released.

This film also features Sir Kenneth Brannagh. I had no idea it was allowed to be on Netflix :slol:

Seriously though, it's an impressive trailer, and it feels like there's a lot of potential. Weirdly it reminded me a lot of A Scanner Darkly, the way it leans so heavily into the drug/trippy stuff, but obviously without the cel shading. It all feels very self referential, which could go two ways in the final film, either some deep layered plot with multiple layers that play off audience expectations, or it's going to fall into fan service emptiness. I am genuinely disappointed that it doesn't seem to have that Matrix look to it.

Because The Matrix was rebooted at the end of Revolutions, so I'm guessing a new Matrix thus a new look.

God damn, that was an awesome trailer. I really, really hope the movie lives up to that.
