It's one of the most anticipated games out there and so it's a nice coup for MS. I say nice and not amazing because the game had its own reveal a day back or so. It may not have looked as good as CoD (I thought it did) but then I know which I game I'd rather play and it isn't the warfare FPS.

CD has been razzing on it since they first showed it and I think he'd have come out with that statement no matter what was shown. Apologies for sounding harsh but that's how I see it.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this was utterly ridiculous

Surely that was the entire point?

I don't think that it was that weird a choice given the overall vibe that MS was clearly trying to capture. That is as "core" a game as you can get. The whole conference was an effort to reassure those people who thought MS had gone off on one last year with their TV and entertainment carry on.

It was a brilliant conference showing. True, it did not have that game which comes along early in a generation and says this is the new benchmark for what to expect from the new gen. Last time out Gears felt like that game to me. A year and two E3 conferences in and I still don't think that we have had that game yet for this gen. Quantum Break looked like it could be it, but they have put it off to later this year for some reason. Maybe "that game" will turn up later at Sony's conference.

I'm a huge Witcher fan but I'll admit that showing probably didn't show it in the best light, some games don't translate well to quick 5 minute demos but for Microsoft I suppose it's another feather in their cap to say their conference had the first official gameplay unveiling of Witcher 3.

But it is all open world and looks as good as initial footage/screens which you doubted when you first saw it last year.

It looked like it was running on a generation somewhere lost in-between the last and current.

Anyway enough. Sony, the ball is in your court.

That is a gooseberry fool ton of games they showed at their conference. Much better than boasting about sales, however there aren't really any exclusives that would make me want an XB1. Also did they mention the xbox 360 at all?

From the game's own press conference a few days back.

Haven't read the thread, but I thought it was a pretty good conference in fairness. Showed a lot of games, and saw quite a few bits and pieces I liked. Nothing major but still a solid 7/10 effort.

It was enjoyable viewing, all about games and none of TV stuff. They don't even go into Kincet games that much, which I like.

Really pleased with the direction - and of course Crackdown

It was definitely the best paced one they've done for a long time. So many games, really enjoyed it.

Yeah it was a good show, feeling pretty positive about X1 now with Phil in charge.

Theres a Beta of the multiplayer included with the Master Chief collection and and the announcement trailer for that game showed the character from Halo 5.

There seems to be a slightly odd situation reoccurring between Microsoft and Sony where the Xboxone seems to have the most interesting exclusive game in the next 6 months but the long term picture looks better on Playstation.

On a sidenote, when do people think we will see the next Gears of War released? You'd think it'd be at E3 next year but theres no way it could possibly be a late 2015 game, right?

Nah, if Halo V is scheduled for next year, a gears release in 2016 makes sense. Probably see some stuff at next E3.

Gears will be late 2016 at the earliest. Gives them 2 and half years dev time which could be possible given their experience with the Xbox One.

Gears trilogy 1080p version in late 2015/early 2016.
