I believe you can. I may well do this for those fancy new headphones if they turn out to be good. I think i have £120 worth at the moment (about 144K points). For your second point i'm not sure i'm afraid. They are always touted as being interchangable, but i'm not sure if thats only in relation to buying digital games on the MS store.

Has anyone done that successfully? If so, is it the ‘Microsoft Gift Card’ I cash in my Rewards for, rather than the Xbox Credit?
So far I’ve got about 66k Rewards so worth about £55 in credit. If I can put towards physical stuff I’ll accrue as many as I can and hopefully get about £100 off a couple of things I’m looking at.
TIA
Pretty certain you can exchange for Microsoft store vouchers. Think the exchange rate is the same as xbox ones. Check the rewards website.
Yeh you can. I got a controller and a surface from the website paid with the credit from reward points.
The credit gets added to your wallet in the denomination you redeem.
You can pay for digital or physical in part or full with your wallet balance.
The most important thing though: the gift card balance only lasts 3 months so don't redeem your points if your purchase is way out in the future. Regular gift card balance doesn't expire. You can see if you have any of your wallet expiring by going to your "payment options" area when logged in to your account. You'll see a breakdown of how much credit and when it's expiring.

I’ve tried reading the terms and it wasn’t explicit either way. Not to me anyway. I did see that refunding of points is unlikely and only at MS discretion.
I thought might be worth cashing in the minimum amount of points for a £5 reward and see if that credit was possible to be applied against a hypothetical basket? If so, then I could apply for several £25 vouchers and apply them too.
Unless they restrict how many vouchers can be used of course!
Xbox credit and Microsoft Store credit are one and the same. I had £150 saved up, when I pre-ordered the Series X it simply asked me if I wanted to use credit or pay with card.
I’m really enjoying it. It actually feels a far more rewarding driving experience than Forza etc. Shunts etc are all part of the race strategy rather than a way of cheesing corners.

Hang on, are other cars not just there to act as braking assists in Forza?
I found in some of the 2nd tier races there is a load of luck required. They start doing the switch back and cross over races. Couple this with final races and 6 laps where the field spreads and you have no idea what you’ll see coming off the jump.
