Glad you guys topped up. Once the first party games come out, I suspect microsoft will tighten the loopholes. Their main intention is to get us signed up for a few years and lets be honest, if we have all of this plus microsoft and bethesda game and even some third party games on launch, we will be happy to pay the full price.

Don’t forget you should be able to get a month of gpu via microsoft rewards every 4-6 weeks with very little work.

There’s an even better ea play deal here for £17.49

That's a pretty good deal for an extra 4 months! It surely can't be too long before they start getting more stingy on these conversions and rewards?

Oh for sure, their strategy is to get as many people on to it by 2023, and then they will have a whole lot of exclusives and then the price will be raised. I just love the excitement of waiting for the next game available, but have so much to enjoy as I didn’t have an xbox last generation. Oblivion in 4k is a dream and the witcher 3 is so much better than the ps5 bc version, in 4k and 60fps! I must admit though my favourite game so far has been dirt 5 and I wouldn’t have bought it on ps5 for £50, so this is great. When you think about it, you could potentially save over £1k over 3 years just by playing launch gpu third party games plus the bc and ofcourse first party games.

I think i will continually top up my gpu sub, or just try and get enough microsoft rewards points to pay for a few months every so often.

I’ve gone for another from CDKeys to take me back up to 2.5 years left on the sub.

I’m surprised Dirt 5 is your favourite. I think it’s utter garbage. Especially when you compare it for Forza Horizon, which is so much better in every aspect.

I’ve been playing a lot of horizon 4 and the fortune island dlc and I love it.

Horizon is just as good as reminds me of the pgr series in many ways, especially the handling, which i love. I hear forza 3 is in 4k, but only at 30fps on the series x. What i may get is the witcher 2 as i never got a chance to play it on the 360.

As for dirt 5, i am enjoying it a lot, not sure whether its just because its a new game or because I haven’t played an arcade rally game for a long while.

I don’t anticipate buying too many third party games in the future as i suspect microsoft will get them on gpu at launch or soon after.

Ps5 still has the best exclusives, but as a day to day console, the series x wins.

If you plan on staying xbox for a while and going by what phil spencer has said, everything is game pass focused, so it makes sense topping gpu up on the cheap whilst you can. You can also get 5 months over a year free via microsoft rewards by simply searching 20 times on your phone via the edge app and 30 times on the pc via the edge browser.

I think in 3 years time I’ll be that used to having Game Pass Ultimate to hand, even having to pay say £15 a month (I’d be amazed if it doesn’t get a price hike at some point) for Game Pass Ultimate would still be immensely good value in my opinion, for the amount of content on there just under £11 is a steal. Currently paying just over £3 currently but still

Edit, just started We Happy Few, just finished the intro and it seems interesting so far, really like the setting. Not sure if it’s something I’ll play to the end mind but its one of the perks of Game Pass, not paying just to try something that doesn’t have a demo.

This model only works long term of they have 100m subscribers, so this is the best time to have the sub, especially for people like me who have a whole generation to play, so a lot of the games on game pass are new to me. I don’t think its as a great deal for xbox one owners who bought digitally last gen, but even then when you’re getting these big third party titles at launch, its still a great deal.

I didn’t play much of their offerings last gen (despite owning an Xbox One) so really seeing the benefits of Game Pass since I got my Series X and re-subbed to Game Pass a few days ago (after having 3 months to start with back in November). Even at full price it still makes sense, even if you’re up to date with their first party games. Only need to play a handful of £20 ish priced games a year and you’ve basically got the value out of it you’d have paid for said games anyway.

I have no idea how feasible 100 million subscribers is though, probably only at just over 5th of that right now as they were at 18 million in January.

Microsoft can handle millions being lost in the short term. I do not agree with this model on the whole as it will breed episodic and dlc heavy games and the quality probably won’t match sony or nintendo. There is a chance that the quality will be there as i think they have learnt a lot over the past generation.

Currently, its too much of a good deal and even a series x as a second console next to the ps4 makes sense as you will probably save money.

It’s becoming more and more likely that Battlefield 6 will launch day 1 into Xbox Gamepass (maybe not pc) and will feature 128 player mp.

I’ll not post the tweets but 2-3 guys who never get things wrong have mentioned it.

Interesting. Not sure why they would continue to split the console and PC stuff out and not give all the content to PC. PC players don’t get the games with gold and don’t need live, so in theory it is even better value on console.

I've just bought an S as a game pass box to compliment my PS5 and i'm just looking for clarification on the game pass ultimate thing.

Is it as simple as buying 36 months of gold and finding a promotion on the dashboard to upgrade it all to an ultimate sub for £1? Any help appreciated.

I've not done it on Xbox but on PC yes it was just a case of redeeming 36 months of Gold and then signing up for ultimate for £1 which converted the Gold to GPU

Yeah, I bought 3 years worth off of CDkeys, added them to my account through the Microsoft store app on the Xbox, then selected the Game Pass Ultimate for £1 option at the top of the Game Pass app. Really quick and easy.

Yeah it is insane value, I got 3 years of Gold for just under £108, so £109 for 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate :toot:

Unfortunately the two are:
Complete the game without collecting any health power-ups
Complete the game in under an hour

Using a video to make sure I stay on pace, but it’s damn challenging. Good fun though. (May revise opinion when I get stuck on a boss.)

I love this game. It is really underappreciated.
