My oldest son loves it though, so

Apparently the story goes to some weird and dark places, like in a "parental guidance" kind of way if you have younger kids playing it!

(I actually don't know what the thing I'm referring to is!)

I too have heard this and also do not know exactly what it is. I’m tempted to play it for that reason alone.

The ending to Bugsnax is a bit dark, summary of the end so SPOILERS SPOILERS, not my summary -

That’s fine until you get to the final quest, the player is giving a warning that they can’t go back from this if they start the quest, and if they accept, it goes from being a cute gather Bugsnaxs experience and literally becomes apocalyptic, with the Grumpus you’d looking for looking like something right out of Resident Evil. They proceed to tell you that the Bugsnaxs you were feeding your friends are parasites, and that you should get of this island. You get back to the town to see that it’s now destroyed, and you have to do some fast action that the game has never prepared you for, and if you fail, you see your friends fall to pieces, dead. I let my younger siblings play this, thinking it was a peaceful Animal crossing-like game, and now they have nightmares, for they understood exactly what was going down.

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is getting poor reviews, seems that it's combat is overly simple and it's comprised of never ending fetch quests. I'll give it a whirl but with the gazzillion JRPG's I snapped up on the Switch/Xbox Sales (Ni No Kuni is astoundingly good) I'm not overly pressed to get into a grind fest.

Never played This War of Mine but from what I read it sounds right up my street, base building with some survival fetch questing? sign me up!

I finished Bugsnax a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it. I'm glad it wrapped up when it did (about 12 hours), and I didn't do the extra DLC island (in fact I never saw a prompt to even begin that bit).

Evolution 2's a good game. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy dinosaurs and park management games.

My son was playing it yesterday, it looks quite fun and the Bunger running around shouting "bunger bunger bunger" made me laugh much more than it should have.

There was a lot of stuff in there that I know should have been beneath me but absolutely wasn't.

rinks back with a bang!

Also, with the exception of Sniper Elite 5, that looks like a terrible selection.

Edit - missed Umarangi. That looks interesting also.
