Yeah, should do. I was near the end (playing on cloud) when it switched to the new version, and it just carried on as normal. Didn't even notice until I saw the new icon!

Oh yeah - they've added a Story mode too, which makes most of the enemies one-hit kills. I wouldn't recommend it for a first playthrough, but if you're replaying for collectibles it saves a lot of hassle.

Thinking of cancelling my sub, there's simply been nothing I can play added for months now, it's just not worth it anymore.

Not even As Dusk Falls? Admittedly I haven't played it yet, but I got the impression it was relatively input-light.

PowerWash Simulator blasted onto Xbox Game Pass last week, and first week TA player counts paint it as one of the most successful Game Pass drops to date, beating the likes of Hades, Battletoads, Psychonauts 2, and more.

PowerWash Simulator racked up over 50,000 tracked TA players in its first week after joining the Xbox Game Pass library, which is more than first-party heavy hitters like Psychonauts 2, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Battletoads, and only a few hundred players shy of beating Gears 4, too. Guess you could call that a pretty clean launch, huh?

The top of the Game Pass player count list shouldn't be too surprising — Halo Infinite amassed almost 300,000 TA players within a week of its full launch (a number admittedly bolstered by its earlier multiplayer beta launch), while Forza Horizon 5 came in just shy of 200k in the same period, again with a little help from a few days' early access for premium edition owners. Gears 5 takes third place, with around 100k players. Rounding out the top five are some of the big third-party Game Pass launches, with Back 4 Blood and Outriders both racking up a little under 100,000 players, and then Rainbow Six Extraction comes in slightly below them. To see something as niche as PowerWash Simulator come in just below these massive games — and ahead some some others, let's not forget — is really quite remarkable, doubly so given that the metric we're using is tracked TA players and the PowerWash Simulator achievements aren't exactly a walk in the park. This comes shortly after the unexpected success of House Flipper, proving that there's more of an audience for these strangely chill games than many might have expected. The power of Game Pass, folks!

Which control method are people using? I'm opting for the one where the spray stays stationary and I move left and right analogues to aim. The one where the spray moves with movements of right analogue somehow feels REALLY VERY WRONG.

A click on the Left stick and you stay still and use right stick to spray about so I alternate between that and default. I have no problem with the controls, I mean, it controls the same as every FPS game on console, only the 'gun' is a spray thingy.

Hit left on D-pad to auto spray and your golden.

Yeah, I alternate depending on the situation, but it's mostly the static spray. I really wish they'd added mouse as an option. Even though I'm not bothered about it for FPS games, for this I feel it would be more natural, given the amount of precision sweeping movement involved.

Love the fact that they've taken the FPS styling so far that you can even go prone!

I love clambering on stuff (other than the steps) to spray on stuff that's above head level. I even managed to jump on the fencing on the second job :P

My one request for improvement would be that when you highlight an item from the job list (like when you're down to .01% remaining) the flashing effect on the job would be easier to spot.

Oh! And it'd be amazing if there was a hardcore mode where you had to take into consideration how you sprayed  So if you'd cleaned something but then cleaned something else next to it, you'd have to make sure to do it such a way that didn't dirty the first thing all over again. ! It could be like Power Wash Puzzle Mode! Clean X in such a way that everything is spotless and you don't leave mucky prints behind you.

I have no idea why I enjoy PWS, why am I spending so much of my free time do make believe cleaning? :fp:

It's very relaxing though, stick on a podcast or some music and blast the grime away. If only I was so motivated to do it in real life.

Played a couple of hours of As Dusk Falls last night. Really enjoying it. I like the art style too.

Plus the filth that gets sprayed everywhere else.
