Definitely gonna play The Surge. Jawa's quest on Dark Souls has inspired me to play something similar, was considering Lords Of The Fallen but this being in Game Pass has changed my mind.

I felt the same way, but went back to it as a casual thing just before bed and it works like that. It is essentially Spelunky on bikes. You get further along each time and have to retry from the start. I am playing it for some of the achievements, but I am also enjoying it. Would not buy it outright, but perfect Game Pass fodder.

I will give it another go, but there seemed to be no challenge at all. Just roll down the hill to the finish line, then back to a map of 20-30 nodes to select the next. And no apparent way to exit that map. Do you just keep plugging away to fill all the nodes in one go? Or do you aim for the skull icon - in which case, what is the point in the rest of it?

It feels like you’re racing, but the other players are off doing their own thing and there are no time limits that I can see. It all feels very pointless.

Maybe it just needs to explain itself better. I thought it was out of early access now, so there’s no excuse.

I think the point is to just get as far as you can. Completing the boss skull level opens up the next map (woods and hills). Complete the skull three times and get a shortcut to the next session. Like Spelunky!

But with Spelunky, the challenge is not to die. This... it’s just a bike ride. Maybe it gets more difficult later on, but I lost interest before I got to find out.

Strongly recommend Tacoma to anyone here who enjoys their "walking simulators". I think it does the best job yet of giving you more story and background detail the harder you look (which is something i really enjoy about the genre).

Launches 30th May on Game Pass, was also given away free with the E3 2018 Mixpot -

A World That Changes Over Time

The planets of Outer Wilds are packed with hidden locations that change with the passage of time. Visit an underground city before it’s swallowed by rising sand, or explore the crust of a hollow planet as it crumbles beneath your feet. Every secret is guarded by hazardous environments and natural disasters as the solar system spirals out of control.

Grab Your Hiking Gear

Strap on your hiking boots, check your oxygen levels, and get ready to venture into space. Use the Little Scout space probe to illuminate dark caves, take photos, or test for hazards in your environment. Track down mysterious audio with your Signal Scope or use your Translator to decipher an ancient Nomai riddle. Navigate the darkness of space with your jetpack and ship.

There’s a lot to discover in the Outer Wilds.

Superhot was already on GWG so you might already have it.

I've been playing that Return to Arkham Asylum and the port is really disappointing tbh. It's got aliasing up to its eyeballs, the frame rate is slightly unstable, the texture work looks bad in places.

Still a great game. But this isn't really the way to play it.

PostRe: Xbox Game Pass - Outer Wilds, Void Bastards, Dead by Daylight out now. PC Game Pass announced! (p38)
by Monkey Man » Thu May 30, 2019 3:21 pm

Xbox Game Pass for PC will give players unlimited access to a curated library of over 100 high-quality PC games on Windows 10, from well-known PC game developers and publishers such as Bethesda, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Paradox Interactive, SEGA, and more. And just as we committed on the console, it is our intent to include new games from Xbox Game Studios in Xbox Game Pass for PC the same day as their global release, including titles from newly acquired studios like Obsidian and inXile. We’re working with over 75 developers and publishers to bring PC content to the service and we’ll ensure the library remains curated and full of great PC titles across a variety of genres, with new games added every month.

Xbox Game Pass for PC members will also receive discounts in the Microsoft Store on Windows of up to 20% on games currently in the library and up to 10% off related game DLC and add-ons.

We look forward to sharing more at E3
, including the great games coming to the library, as well as more details on when and how you’ll experience the new Xbox Game Pass service for PC gamers.

At the conference, Microsoft will reveal the details of how you can actually sign up for Game Pass on the PC with the launch of the beta. According to people familiar with company plans, the PC version of Game Pass will be included with Ultimate Game Pass that was announced earlier this year for no additional cost.

Further, Microsoft is working on a specific PC Gaming app called Garrison, that will be used to help orchestrate the GamePass experience across multiple devices/stores. Phil Spencer had said previously that he was looking to overhaul the gaming experience in the Microsoft Store and the Garrison application is likely the fruit of that labor.

I have not heard yet if there will be a stand-alone SKU of PC Game Pass but it would seem odd to launch the new service without the option as not everyone needs the full Ultimate offering.
