I had the Saturn version, worked surprisingly well with the controller.

I guess it's not the most time critical of games so a controller probably does work pretty well!

I've been impressed by how many games (and styles of games) which were based around the "point and click" type of input from computers have managed to translate across to consoles over the years. Developers have definitely got better at converting things over and adapting the design

The Saturn version of Command & Conquer wasn't quite as easy to play with a controller, still loved it though.

Played the remastered PC version earlier this year and I was utterly crap at it, I haven't played a C&C game in years and it shows.

C&C is very fast paced and punishes you heavily if you're not on top of things!

I just bought breadth of the wild a second time for the same amount of money (about £40) but on switch. My excuse was so I can play it in bed and presentation is better (to be fair, it is). Also I didn't want to buy the DLC on a console I rarely play (wii u), which after discounts and gold points cost just over a fiver.

Otherwise I don't tend to do this. If I have it on and old console, it lives on that console.

I think Skyrim is easily the most with 5.

Original 360 release
360 GOTY release
Xbox One Legendary edition
PC Legendary edition
Skyrim VR

All bar the original were very heavily discounted, like between £10 and £20 and I did trade in the original 360 game when buying the GOTY edition.

I can’t think of anything else I’ve bought more than twice although there probably are a few more than I’ve bought three times between original games, ports to newer gens and maybe on PC for messing with mods.

I bought the original Sonic the Hedgehog way back on the original Megadrive, and I must have bought it digitally so many times and on so many systems since.

E.g. there's the Megadrive collection on switch, where I mainly bought it because it would good to have a portable version. Think I bought it on the Wii U, there was some sort of Sonic mega collection somewhere else as well.

And then I got the Megadrive classic mini most recently, largely to be able to play Sonic again on the proper pad. And I don't even like the marble zone, so I usually give up there anyway.

God I strawberry floating loathe the Marble Zone, the difficulty spike and the sheer length of the damned thing are just horrible.

Sonic 2 is a vast improvement over the original imo, mainly due to better level design, reducing each stage to two 'acts' and general QoL improvements throughout.

I did prefer the originals Special Stage though, that Escher esque background

There's some mighty impressive numbers in this thread! I don't think I can recall double dipping that many times on a single game!

Skyrim I've had 4 times: 2x Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch.
Minecraft I've had 3 times: Xbox 360, Android, Xbox One
OoT 3 times I believe: N64, GameCube, 3DS

Skyrim seems to be a popular choice!

Sonic is just one of those games that I find it hard to not have available at all times. Fortunately most releases have been at relatively budget prices so it's not the most expensive vice!

It's maybe kinda odd but Zelda games - and I've not played that many of them in any great depth - are a bit of a mixed bag for me. I love the exploring and the character interactions but the fighting and, especially, boss battles are a bit too frustrating. I was hugely enjoying Skyward Sword until that boss battle with (I forget the name) that fireball-breathing monster.

I guess it's not just Zelda games - a lot of boss battles frustrate me in games - but it maybe stands out more for them because I enjoy the exploration aspect so much. It's rather like how some folk describe golf; a good walk spoiled.

You can't let boss battles stop you playing. If you're stuck, go to YouTube, there's always walkthrough videos that include how to beat bosses.
